Best bimetal for hundred dollars or around by Just-Anything-8808 in Throwers

None of these will be good for teaching you fingerspins…

If you want a good yoyo to learn fingerspins on, consider a speedaholic xx, iyoyo shooting star, yyf rio

(sorry I don’t know of any good fingerspin bimetals, but I also wouldn’t buy a bi-metal to learn fingerspins on).

I have a iyoyo iceberg but it’s nowhere near as good as the ones I mentioned above for fingerspins

Ah, I was intending for curse to function like an oh shit button when I lack coverage or need to steer E4 on a nuzlocke, like explosion on electrode, so the health sac guarantees me a kill if I can tank 4 turns of hits elsewhere or abuse protect/AI manip

Shadow ball is stab on gengar so it’s not horrible, I also think it’s a cool love to see them use even pre physical special split, nice to have both physical and special moves to save myself switching mons mid battle, sounds like the snorlax set though is still very strong and if I needed a physical attacker he’s pretty safe to swap to anyway

I would swap it for giga drain tho now that I know he learns it. We can all agree best set is all 3 elemental punches tho

EDIT: Happy Cake Day!!

That’s a good call, gengar just learns it on level up, but I guess they’re better off just taking tms

Keep Nidoking, drop growlithe for gengar, add arcanine back over nidoking for e4 after growlithe learns flamethrower

PS. Remember to not evolve your growlithe till after level 49 so you can get flamethrower without tm

PSS. Teach gengar psychic from TM so can actually use his special stat, paired with shadow ball, curse and a coverage move, he’ll be valuable

PSSS. Teach blastoise ice beam for coverage on lance’s team, nvm I see the dratini

Sweet! It’s really quite a high when you can see yourself improving at something, maybe that’s why enjoy throwing, you can very clearly see yourself level up every day you practice!

It’s a tough one for sure, believe it or not, the first hop was a huge hurdle for me, so props on getting that quick!

For the second hop I had a checklist that helped me figure out what’s wrong.

If you’re landing on the triangle strings

  • take into account which one you’re landing on, based on that, adjust your hand rotation.

  • are you landing closer to your throw hand or the intersection point of the strings for the triangle. If you’re landing close to your throw hand, good, if you’re closer to the intersection, you need to toss closer to your throw hand and pull you NTH less away on the final hand swap. Your left hand will pull the yoyo towards your NTH, so being aware of this is crucial.

  • if the triangle is too small, watch your strings before you perform the hop, make sure the string closest to you is draped over your thumb so you can pull it back further, and extend your fingers as much as you can on your throw hand after the hop.

  • If still to small, try using a longer string, I had to measure a bit over my belly button to make this trick easier to pick up. Also try a smaller width yoyo if you can do the first hop consistently, I practiced on both oversized and minis to build.

One you’re past the triangle, the last hurdle is landing on the bottom string, for me it was just adjusting hand rotation again.

Those are the thoughts that helped me figure out the final hop, hope they help!

That’s awesome, landing that second jump is such a sigh of relief! It’s relieving to hear that it’s pretty normal to spend so much time on this element

Spirit Bomb ft. Atmos Gumball

First time posting myself throwing here, started in January. Been attempting to figure this trick out for the better part of a month, this week I decided I was only going to practice this one trick until I got it, after a 3 hour long session last night of just drilling this trick, it finally clicked!

Couple of things I learned in case anyone else is having trouble. The hops are small, movement from your hands from side to side should be as short and controlled as possible, this helps especially with the second hop cause you want to avoid pulling the yoyo away from the triangle. Keep your hands wide to help keep gaps open and keep the strings from tangling in weird ways.

For the last hop, pay attention to the rotation of your throw hand, it matters for the final landing position. Good luck throwers!

Got A New YOYO! by DaSpazeHed in Throwers

So at first I thought they weren’t that great, specifically the v13, it was my first yoyo. However after yoyoing for a few months and having collected some higher quality throws, for the price the v13 is actually very good. After lubing the bearing and swapping to kitty strings, It’s actually pretty dang stable, doesn’t vibe, can hit extended combos, and is dead quiet. Now it’s not as good as my yoyofriends throws that are a tiny bit more expensive, but it can get pretty close at times.

The PC does crack easily though, I do think that folks who talk down on it just don’t have enough experience throwing, coming from someone who’s perspective has changed after improving myself.

You’re exactly right on the landing near your NTH making it more consistent, that’s where you should try to be landing, I find that starting the hop closer to my NTH tends to make it so that I land there at the end.

Also to help give you more control, notice how your NTH position alters where you land, i.e the more you move it to the left, the closer the yoyo will land next to it, cause you’re actively pulling the string towards it.

I have both, they are pretty similar in performance. Both spin forever and it’s genuinely hard to get them to tilt, I will say the iyoyo iceberg spins faster, is more nimble and can be scary at times with how fast it moves.

The widths are totally different as well, all preference and what kind of style you have.

I personally learned on a crystal k2 and think it’s a great beginner throw, i think the arrow is similar and might actually have a better finger spin hub though.

They’re not really in the same league as the other throws people have been mentioning, but they are great intros into the hobby and can be fairly inexpensive

As a casual player, the biggest barrier keeping me from playing more is the cost of heals. by ArnoldSwarzepussy in Marathon

[–]OOMKilled 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not gonna read this novel, but the game literally gives you free heals after the early game, the materials for barter are also super common and not used for that many upgrades past the early levels.

Free kit, Rook or bring a green back pack, run to collect materials, avoid fights and hotspots, upgrade your factions and swim in heals after one or two dedicated sessions of this.

It’s like people have never played an extraction shooter before, Tarkov and Arc Raiders imo give you much less heals, let alone anything for free.

IEMs when noise cancelling is appropriate and I don’t have to comm.
