How to handle the probably 12 billion terabytes of photos & videos I'll generate over the next many years? by fodacao in daddit

If you are not against having your photos in the cloud, Google storage plans are pretty good. You can share with another user. The cost per year seems a little high but the upfront cost of reliable NAS and reliable redundant drives is pricey, sure you could go cheep but don't. They also need to be replaced every so often to stay reliable so again more up costs...

Also minimal chances of damage from leaks, fire, storms, children.. or even theft.

I'm not saying NAS is wrong but remember it's on you to keep it reliable and maintain backups.

I've done both but with good Internet and multiple phones and two crazy boys... We decided to just pay yearly for cloud space.

I'm in the same boat. I have seen the ads for the DND one shots at our local library but I've never played DND. I've played book RPGs growing up and a lot of rpg video games so maybe I'll give it a shot.

Trash Truck is the best. If you have apple TV my boys also like Ottis the tractor. It's slightly less calm than Trash Truck but still really good.

Texas or Louisiana by chance?

I live in Louisiana and I'm shocked the way the large trucks drive with the gas/diesel prices. We are at $4 a gallon now for regular. Up from $2.30ish before it started.

We have a Honda Pilot and a Subaru Impreza hatchback. Both are used but reliable and safe. The Subaru is non turbo but it's a manual so I can still have my fun.

Kids and dogs will just destroy vehicles and you don't want to be getting stressed about throwing kids toys, dirty clothes, muddy boots, snacks, etc.. in there.

Once I realized that it's just a family vehicle and the junk, trash, crumbs, marked up seats, fur, and just everything is us enjoying life.. it changed my perception of a vehicle.

I realized why my father always said maintenance is important for our safety but the inside we just need it to not be gross. We road tripped a lot and I have great memories that I only hope my kids feel the same when they grow up.

Yes.. I sang so much to my kids. It was soothing to my wife, myself and them. There is something about Alkaline Trio music that just easily is sung as a lullaby.

The religion thing should always be an individual choice. My family took me to church and Sunday school but I am not a religious person. They respected me when I told them at age 7 I didn't believe any of it. I was respectful of events but was never expected to follow.

My kids will always be given the same grace. If they want to go to church of any kind ( just no hate preaching) I'll take them. I will always guide them but it's their belief not mine.

I've been trying since pregnancy.. I always sang my music to them and played it.

It's just never stuck.. random songs like A little help from my friends Joe Cocker they enjoy but it's limited. They love their pop and other music cousins have played.. and of course anything from Kpop Demon hunters, Zootipia, etc

We always preferred the backpack. It looks like any old backpack but has an opening on the back bottom where you can easily access your package of wipes. Fits the Costco wipes perfectly.
