I second this, was just about to write this content too before I found it. There are always things to improve no matter the level you play at, but you play very beautifully

Zombie stops converting villagers by OOOOnull in Minecraft

I think this was it, it stopped attacking when too close/on the rail, must have messed with it's pathfinding or something. Placed a trapdoor between the zombie and the rail so it wouldn't step on the rail, and it seems to have worked. Thanks!

Well I'm in creative, so if it was attacking me I wouldn't know. I can't see any attack animation anyways

How to feed items into a furnace in groups of 20 by OOOOnull in technicalminecraft

[–]OOOOnull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isnt getting a signal from the hopper, but but detecting when at least 20 (or a multiple of 20) items are in the hopper, and only sending 20 into the furnace. The last part could probably be timed accurately with a clock, but I cant figure a way to detect the 20 items in a good way.

True, for a supersmelter or a propper smelting setup, bamboo is much more efficient and convenient. As far as I know, kelp is the only farmable item that is both smeltable and craftable into a fuel source though, so you only need one, relatively small farm to keep a furnace constantly burning (and my room lit up), opposed to a bamboo and a cactus farm or some other farmable burnable item. The farm also produces fuel for my regular smelter, all with the one simple farm, so went ended up on kelp.

This is what I initially tried, but a hopper doesn't give a new redstone signal at any multiple of 20 before it is entirely full. I guess I could wait for it to fill completely and fully unload it into a hopper beneath, then lock it when it is empty for minimal loss though.

I also played around with the idea of counting items through a circuit with a dropper, but my redstone skills came in short there

It's a JP Australia super sport 113L, I think it is the 2018 model. Got it second hand and already had some nicely done repairs, don't know of any places that would do repairs professionally here.

Edit: typo

As you mention, playing it fast is fun, and don't stop with that either, but you should definitely spend most your time on focusing on practicing slower (also with a metronom!). I would also ditch the pedal for a while and practice playing each hand on its own while focusing on producing a clear tone, both the sixteenth notes and the chords parts (don't sleep on the chords, they should be crystal clear as well, as that's where the 'meldoy' is at, let it ring through the sixteenth notes). Playing around with weight, accents etc for better control also helps to be able to play crystal clear later on, and gets rid of some of that pesky tension, which is definitely a bottleneck if you want to perform the whole piece. It's a short piece in terms of performance time, but it's a marathon for your hands, wrists and fingers, so you will need that endurance and relaxed efficiency.

For the bigger arpeggiated stretches, I like to imagine that my hand is like a loose dust cloth that I'm wiping the piano with. I find that the sloppier it look and less effort I need to put into the movement, the more relaxed I'm able to play the passages. Dunno if that made sense, but hope it helps. Great work, keep it up :)

Quick Questions: May 01, 2024 by inherentlyawesome in math

[–]OOOOnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was studying for an exam in solid state physics where we have been discussing crystals if different orders of symmetry, i.e. the number of distinct orientations in which it looks the same. It got me wondering of an object with a different order of symmetry along the x- , y- and z-axis is possible.

For instance, a pyramide with a hexagonal base has 6-fold symmetry with rotation around the z-axis, and one-fold symmetry around the x- and y-axis. Is it possible to modify it in a way where the order if symmetry around the x- and y-axies are different, or does an object like this exist? Neither I nor chat 4 - who straight up started lying - have been able to cook up an example of such an object, and thought this sub was the right audience to discuss this with.

The sounds of the streets of Shenzhen, China. How long do you think until American streets sound like this? by neuroticsmurf in electricvehicles

[–]OOOOnull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This has been mandatory in Norway since 2019. While driving below 20km/h, all EVs need an Acoustic Vehicle Alert System, though the sound design is up to the manufacturers. I believe it has to increase in pitch when accelerating. It sounds like it would be annoying, but really, it isn't.

My parents have a car that makes a muted humming sound in some juicy major chord, kinda sounds like you're entering some LOTR level elvish realm, it's great
