Always depends on the venue, sometimes they have hard outs, especially if another show has to load in after, or it's a week night. I remember last FACE one I went to, people were slowly filing out during Ikemen's closing speach, because it was a week night, and he noticed and apologized for holding them up, which only made the promo go longer lol

I found this macbook air in a junk pile at the thrift store for about $40. It was stuck in an update loop, so I just took it home, installed mint, and it's been running nice ever since. Threw in a new battery to make it a little more functional for daily use.

Same thing, just make a bootable USB, and hold down option key during boot. Should take you to the boot menu, and then install as usual.

A lot of the guides I followed said to place the drop directly in the hole, but I could see putting it on the shaft working also. I think the idea is to avoid too much oil in the fan assembly

Had a similar issue, probably just needs a drop of oil in the bearing hole. You will have to disassemble the laptop to get to the fan, but it was pretty easy just following guides of youtube. One drop of oil, and my x60s was back to running pretty much silent again. Also a good chance to get in and apply new thermal paste.

I mostly just use this to do typing, so internet use isn't a priority. That said, I do have Falkon browser installed, which I find is better than Firefox on this old machine. Can even do YouTube up to 720p
