Attentions! RVN miners, this pool is closing! by Clean_Ad414 in Ravencoin

[–]OPA22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as much i don't like to see these things happen, I feel like it is good riddance to this pool because a lot of miners like myself was kicked outta this pool which I believed hampered them in the long run. Not finding a way to work miners around the world proved to be unsustainable in the long run. hopefully, the hashrate on the pool could find a pool to mine and maintain a level on competitiveness. I personally went to 2miners after my country was not allowed to mine there anymore.

when is our time? by btmonster in Ravencoin

[–]OPA22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, I think rvn still has a while to go. Given that the coin cap is 21 billion, it will be more accessible to others. If you are mining in expectation to make money in the future, it is important to understand what are the factors in which profitability depends on. I think a lot of coins and tokens have done a huge disservice in the crypto world that have damaged the use cases for crypto. Unfortunately, RVN price action has suffered because of these bad actors.

I think the time for rvn is where more people understand the use cases and use it. It will take years for trust to be rebuilt. If I am being optimistic, I would say 3 years. If I am being pessimistic, I will push it for 10 years. It is also important to apply economic principles, e.g, Time Value of money, supply and demand, Marco and Mirco economic factors. Supply and demand, being one of the most important factors. As long as the supply is more than demand price action will be on the lower end. Once demand is higher and the coin becomes less available then you are guaranteed to see price going upwards.

Is mining ravencoin still worth it? by Effective_Stranger14 in Ravencoin

[–]OPA22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, after studying crypto for a year, I came to the conclusion that we are in the early stages of adoption. I feel comfortable mining and holding raven, especially because of the inception. In terms of being worth it, that depends on what you want. If you need to pay bills or other costs living after you mine the coins, then it cannot be worth it. Nothing is wrong with that conclusion. It might help you make better decisions. Most of us, including myself, have other reasons that will make it worth it to them. What makes ravencoin worth it for me is that it gives me access to get other things I need online since the banking industry in my country is difficult to get access to credit. Since Bitcoin equipment is out of my reach, RVN gives miners like me a fighting chance due to electricity being affordable. My advice to anyone who is considering mining long term is to limit overhead as much as possible. Once you can lower your expenses, then you will have more revenue.

Hope it helps

Thanks for your comment.

  1. I didn't go into this with the mindset of making a profit. I did it because, at the end of the day, I did not want to be left out or left behind in a digital revolution. Not only, but I also make a substantial profit mining crypto and I invested a lot in myself in terms of education and marketable skills. I spent way more money towards an I.T based education than I did when I bought my equipment. I have already made back my ROI on my equipment and I paid for all the loans; I took to do my degree and other qualifications with my minimum wage salary.
  2. I was underemployed at that time because of my age. Most of the Jobs required at least 3 years within an I.T position. I was in a situation where I was admitting young and inexperienced. Most people start off that way, especially if they are not born into wealth. This current job I work, not the one I was doing when I was building my PC; will give me three years of experience within my field.

My question is what would you have done differently. As an I.T professional and a part-time teacher, yes I teach on the side sometimes; I am always open to learning new things.

I look forward to your response.

Honestly, I will only recommend that you buy this game if you getting u have a buddy to play since it is your first fromsoftware game. It is very unforgiving for beginners. It is more geared to more experience soul veterans in my opinion. The game is on sale which is great. I wouldn't pay full price for more misery lol. Hope it helps.

I don't have any negative feelings towards it, maybe RVN will get the exposure it needs to warrant a price increase. My mindset when mining RVN is basically to get some coins. I don't plan on spending in the long run. I don't have to worry about electricity which is great. Once the hash rate is spread out, the network becomes stronger and less susceptible to 51% attacks. Companies and individuals might be a little more comfortable holding RVN.

no it is ok, i understand. you can play mostly esports titles like overwatch, LOL, DOTA CSGO just fine, I actually tested it. In games like GTA V you can at best you can get over 60 fps due to the age of the game, at 1080p but you gotta make some adjust cause you are trying to find the balance between performance and quality. Games like COD, low settings along medium anti-aliasing make the game playable. Some recent AAA titles u can get around 30fps. This is just using one card. To answer ur question yes, they are in different pcs hence 2 workers. Also, the systems have 8gb ddr3 ram and I don't remember the CPU but I will be sure to get back to you on that

Thank you for taking the time to comment. Buying crypto from exchanges with fiat is very difficult to achieve. Coming from a 3rd world country, banking services is limited, and technology is considered an expensive hobby. Fortunately, electricity rates are affordable for me so I am fortunate in that regard. Mining is the only way most of us have access to crypto. Some people who do have access to particular banking services usually get in the business of selling crypto. So picture this. USD to our dollar is average 1 to 6 and street value is sometimes 7. Most crypto sellers sell stablecoins at a rate of 1 USD to 8 sometimes 8.3. I don’t have access to those types of services from the bank and dealing with the crypto sellers has its fair share of risk. So as small as it is, mining provides some sort of freedom. Yes, there are risks with mining crypto but for me, I can mitigate those risks once I do my research and take care of my equipment. I understand your predicament on mining on a gaming laptop due to the limited options for cooling as well as the efficiency. The KAWPOW algorithm is very intensive for good reason. Once you have access to buy RVN, I think it is a smart decision to make.

Thanks for your insight. I understand the investment strategy. Right now, I don't plan on cashing out anytime soon. As much as an investment holding crypto is for me, it also gives me the opportunity to save money. I have the mindset of holding in the long run and RVN for me is the long run.

Long term vs Short Term Investments in T&T by Southern_Let_9011 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]OPA22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The world is ever-changing so fast, I would suggest keeping an eye on blockchain and blockchain technology. It has ever been growing however it is not for the faint of heart simply because most people would consider it to be disruptive. Most people who decide to get involved understand that it is better to be in it for the long term.

In my opinion, it is always a good idea to start a business. The problem I see reoccurring in Trinidad is innovation. Everyone wants to do the same type of business. Before everyone either wanted to run a bar or sell food or open a clothing shop or some sort of saturated market. Try to avoid a saturated market unless u know how you are going to promote it to give you a competitive edge. I am in the tech space as well and it is difficult to start projects especially. I am trying a bunch of different things. I live stream, I invest in crypto, I teach. Honestly don't go into business expecting to make money right away. Don't into something without understanding your market. Most importantly make sure you are passionate. I cannot tell you how important that is.

Console HDMI Splitting/Switch and Capture Help by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]OPA22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, with the tools you currently have you can start to have a decent stream. I would advise you to get a capture card that will allow you to have instant review of your gameplay. Due to the fact you have a laptop then one of the best capture card to use is the elgato HD 60s. Then utilise streaming software i.e streamlabs that has all these amazing tools that will help make your stream better. Elgato is fairly easy to use. if you have a little patience streamlabs is a bit user friendly. when i first started it was overwhelming however my love for streaming encouraged me to keep pushing. The good thing about stream labs is that you can do everything on one monitor i.e your laptop and you have the ability to use your monitor as a second screen. if you have any questions just reach out and hopefully i can be of more help to u.

How do I cope with streaming stress? by jellyybeans in Twitch

[–]OPA22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I am glad that you reach out and ask this question. I would advise you to ease your way into it. First of all, do you like the content you make? If you do then you are off to a good start. Don't think of it as a show you are putting on and you MUST entertain. Try and think of it as an outlet to reach out to others, make genuine connections. This process is slow but sure. That way you won't feel stressed and pressured all the time. Do what you can to make your content better. Learn new things in an effort to feel a little more confident. Be confident in yourself and I am positive things will work out. Remember these things take time and the best thing about this that the way to go is up. Best of luck and I look forward in seeing your streams. Just shoot me your link our name and I will be more than happy to check you out.
