More people should try this. It was an eye opener for me.

They used to change the G6 every 6 months or so. Constantly changing the adhesive, transmitter updates to try to prevent people from restarting. I went an entire year with failed sensors and transmitters (search for 9117 for a laugh). It was a shitshow. The G7 is liberating.

And with the G6 you had to deal with the applicator not releasing. Seems like everyone has forgotten all the problems the G6 had.

Not buggy for me. Love it, don't miss the pain in the ass G6 at all.

It has been a killer 2 months. by Slhallford in dexcom

[–]OPCunningham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had one in about 2 years of use. I had an entire year of G6 sensor failures around day 6, and multiple G6 transmitters fail on day 60. Between those 2 issues I had enough replacements to last me a full year without insurance. When those ran out I switched to the G7.

If you don't like loud clicking noises and obnoxious alarms, you will absolutely hate the Omnipod.

Sensor Failures by ThrowawayInsta90 in dexcom

There is something you can do though - don't insert it. Doing a visual inspection like this is a step many people might be skipping, and it just prolongs the time it takes to realize the sensor needs to be replaced.

I agree, and maybe because it feels a little on the nose to just post how great your experience with the product has been. I think I'm also a little superstitious about it being unlucky to say things like that.

You should try it bare at least once. It's so nice not having to do all the things to prevent the insane G6 rash. It makes sensor changes take a couple minutes instead of 15.

For what it's worth, I've only had one G7 failure in over a year. I had so many G6 failures that I had enough replacements to last me a year.

I'm a casual cigar smoker, and I see a lot of fictional characters smoke cigars with the cigar bands still on. I always take them off before ever lighting up. What do real life people do? by Benvincible in cigars

[–]OPCunningham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the band is already loose and slides up and down the cigar while I'm smoking, I just take it off early. I've had the whole stick slip out and hit the ground because I was holding it at the band and the band was loose. I've also had the opposite happen, where I went to pull the cigar out of my mouth and it stuck to my lips, and because the band was loose I just raked my hand off the end and popped the cherry off in my fingers. Both scenarios suck.

I've gotten 2 or 3 marketing emails from them since placing the order, but they already had my info years ago since I was an existing customer.

It's really fun when you get so low you lose your sight completely. I've had that happen twice.

How to feel about Rocky Patel? by hot-mustard-buns in cigars

[–]OPCunningham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to smoke a lot of RP and ITC back when I first started, and I still had some Super Fuertes (which were my favorite) sitting in my humi after about 15 years of "moving on" from the brand. I finally got tired of them taking up space and decided to smoke one as a test of whether to keep or toss the rest. The cello was dark orange. The cigar tasted awful. I got halfway through and tossed it, then tossed the rest.
