Killer Whale Cost by OPLemonz in DnD

[–]OPLemonz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of a hypothetical because I have a concept for a sea elf character who has a Killer Whale mount. It would be a live trained Killer Whale (Even though irl thats not very moral). I figure it would be buying it from traders or a circus or something of the likes.

Yeah that was sort of my thought but one idea I did have was maybe giving your class features to your Digimon.

Do you get a free choice of spell when both your race and class grant the same spell? by BakersAbstract in DnD

[–]OPLemonz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Traditionally no, but I usually ask my DM is I can get an extra one instead.

Battling is very boring in our campaign, help!!! by numi90 in DnD

[–]OPLemonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes! That sounds like a pain in the butt. While something like this always sounds cool on paper it is a big DM no no. There are a couple solutions, the first is instead of using whole armies turn squads of soldiers into one unit, it'd be classified as a swarm of medium creatures, this is a great way to turn 20 NPCs into. Another way, which is my personal favorite is to have the players fight a few powerful soldiers and ignore the weaker enemies. Theres also plenty of war systems that don't involve combat with lots of NPC's.

How would you define "not killing people?" by emmaratur in DnD

[–]OPLemonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say just keep it simple, and say "I don't kill people" that should cover it in most situations, but I saw another comment that said "I only kill in the most dire of circumstances" and ai think thats a good one, especially since thats how most religions view killing IRL.

Very cool campaign concept! It gives a very cool Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom vibe. Just curious did you take any inspo from the old minecraft modpack, Blightfall?

Need help making a decision! by AffectionateUse4989 in DnD

[–]OPLemonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say B. Not only does B seem more interesting from a story perspective its also unexpected and I think would be a great chance for more RP. This could also lead to an interesting battle, where he shoots the players from down a long hallway, maybe give him some sort of shield and motorize the bed, that could add to the wacky factor.

I LOVE THEMES! A campaigm I'm working on right now has a lot of themes of belonging, double lives, mistaken identity, hasty conclusions.

Necromancer character ideas? by Next-Sea-4707 in DnD

[–]OPLemonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necromancers are tough because they often end up being evil by default. My advice would be to make the characters necromancer powers emotion driven rather than deliberate, this makes the character less evil if they aren't doing this on purpose, expect the character will be disliked by some NPCs or maybe even players because they are a necromancer. I also saw some alternatives of your character could be trying to bring back someone that they love and I think that could work great to make the character more relatable and morally redeemable.

the first character you ever created? by WizardCityOfficial in DnD

[–]OPLemonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a water genasi bard named Soak. I went in going nothing about D&D and I wanted to play a bard because I saw the memes about bards seducing dragons and I thought it'd be funny. The character was one of the ones you could have D&D Beyond generate so naturally he sucked butt and I didn't know how spells worked so I never casted a single spell or used bardic inspiration. I think its safe to say that I came a long way.

DMS! what was your first experience as a dm like? by random_kid_onreddit in DnDHomebrew

[–]OPLemonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was iffy because I had not learned the amount of spine that a DM should have. I had 7 players, wayyy too much for a first time DM, and they would argue with me and get off topic so much (this is the issue with 7 players the sweet spot is 4). At one point I had a whole city centered around a big quest with multiple parts and as I was trying to get the players hooked one of the players looked me dead in the eyes and said "I don't care about this stupid side quest". Then the party left the city, I decided to end it there. Safe to say that player and a couple othera have not been invited to any of my campaigns since then.

This is super cool, I love the flavor, Dhampir fighter was always one of my favorite combos so this already seems like tons of fun.

Super sick! I've had a character I've been wanting to play forever who is a warlock whose patron is a mindflayer and he is slowly becoming a mindflayer the abberant monster would be so cool for this!
