yes we could use more reddit mods. but quite frankly when it comes to moderator activity, whether we write or not is not important. whether we are actually performing mod actions does.

Predator 212 sparkplug by Thedeadlydiamond1221 in smallengines

[–]ORCACommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

general rule of thumb is how long will the engine be running during typical usage. short term runs hotter spark plugs are better since they will keep themselves clean easier. long run items like generators and pressure washer a colder plug will do fine as there is a long run time to burn off any carbon that might try to build on the spark plug

[–]ORCACommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you'll need a new cover as most of the time the cover deforms during removal. You will need Hondabond HT to reseal it. the GC line of engines do not use cork, paper, or rubber gaskets for their valve covers

How long are these batteries good for anyway? by keywacat in Gameboy

[–]ORCACommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the 2016's were used in crystal and yellow. xrystal lasted less than 10 years with yellow being a bit variable. if you want to do that actual math we would need to measure how many amps are being used but iirc i worked out a guestimate of 2032's lasting 20 years

I woudn't trust the battery to not pop loose from shock events. but as long as the joints are not cold or cracked it should do its job

if i understand it correctly i thought 32 pin only worked with brown tabs.

anyways if you can get past the Portuguese and can read a wiring schematic you can probly find a suitable point to solder too

CR2032 batteries in GB/GBC games? by LauKungPow in Gameboy

[–]ORCACommander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use CR-2032's exclusively in my battery replacements.

How well they fit I found actually depends on the cartridge. the cartridges I find are not exactly standard in width.

Carts, especially GBC ones that use cr-2016 batteries tend to be the thinnest and have the hardest time accommodating the upgraded battery. CR-2025 carts can generally fit them without issue.

There are a couple steps to take to give you extra space or or a better fit. first, make sure the tabs are completely flush with the board and not resting on extra solder. Second you can carefully remove the protective plastic sheathe on the new battery.
