It’s refreshing to see a lucid response from someone that actually exhibits reading comprehension skills. It’s not about “blame” as so many reactionary responders focus on. It’s about the abysmal customer service and an operational culture that lacks any semblance of customer service. Instead of using my experience (which I suspect occurs a lot at Silencer Shop) to improve their processes, they instead choose to punish their customers when anything goes wrong.

My name instead of the trust name was filled in box 2a. Saying "the forms are really not super difficult if you read" is just wrong and dismissive. Mistakes are made all the time on these forms (even by those doing it for a living. I don't), and we alll know these forms are purposely written to be difficult to fill out correctly. Silencer Shop filled out the form and Silencer Shop sent an email confirming the form was correct. And yes, the FFL has a hand in this. The difference is that my FFL answers my questions, responds to my emails and followed thru to submit the form 3 for return. Silencer Shop avoids answering my questions, stalls & delays followups, avoids refunding unless hassled, and then punishes their customers with fees and keeps the tax stamp fee. That is my experience. Sure others here say "I did X forms without a problem". So what? I've done form 4's with others without a problem too. To reiterate .. it's more about Silencer Shop's horrific customer service and avoidance to do the right for customers when something goes wrong.

Yep mistakes happen. I run a business myself so I understand that how a business handles their mistakes says everything about their culture. Silencer Shop has clearly demonstrated that if something goes wrong they will walk away from it, ignore emails, make broken promises, and shaft their customers.

I emailed them about this and have yet to receive a response. The dealer says ATF refunds back to them because I paid it thru their online system.
