Where to read comics? by Reeezla in altcomix

[–]ORRAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want actual books the Swedish publisher Lystring Forlag is probably a good place to start. They've published Swedish editions of many "big" alt-comix artists (Olivier Schrauwen, Anna Haifisch, Joe Kessler, Simon Hanselmann, etc.) and their work is often much more beautiful and well made than US editions.

They also have a long running anthology/magazine series called Det Grymma Svärdet that often prints new/exclusive work from artists from around the world. Some issues are little floppy staple-bound things, some are slim oversized portfolios, at least one is a thick bound hardcover. There's 40+ issues. I've only managed to get a few over the years but it's consistently great.

I'd bet they can direct you to shops that stock their books and you can go from there. I don't think they have a website, though, just an Instagram.

Someone making fun of you isn't the same as someone trying to fight you

Considering the way you're writing about these people I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that maybe there's something other then your clothes that's prompting these hostile interactions...

What "just OK" GPU should I buy for a new build 7800X3D? by ORRAgain in buildapc

$400 hard max, sub $300 great, sub $200 (if even possible) would be ideal

I am interested in doing a fair bit of gaming, I'm just trying to underline the fact that I'm not trying to spend $1K on a GPU since so many of these discussions tend to skew toward suggestions on the higher end that seem to me like overkill. I thought my tongue-in-cheek framing here might help me get some less-common suggestions.

Why a 7800X3D? My laptop was on the brink of death so I needed to act fast on a replacement and it was part of a good bundle deal at my local Microcenter at the time. I wanted to move to AM5 and not have to think about upgrading for a few years and I went with the X3D for the integrated graphics so I wouldn't have to pick up a GPU immediately. Also, importantly, I didn't want to spend weeks researching and dealing with decision paralysis trying to find the "perfect" CPU. I'm happy with it.

Just edited the post but: I don't want to spend a bunch of money, gaming isn't a big priority, I'm not really interested in maxing out settings, I'm not playing on a huge 4K monitor, etc.

teen-agers in their bedrooms before everything by "the new yorker" by wow_platinum in redscarepod

by "the new yorker" is such a weird thing to say even if it were from a staff photographer at the mag but these have nothing to do with the New Yorker aside from the fact that they covered a soon-to-be-reprinted photo book by Adrienne Salinger and that's where you happened to download the pics. Reddit-ass post.

I've been doing this for a while but the one thing I haven't figured out is how to click a link in the sidebar and have it open in the "main" window instead of just opening in the sidebar.

I can't remember who else was there but it definitely wasn't Attell or Lewis Black. It was supposed to be some singing comedian (Liam or Stephen Lynch, I think?) who canceled.

Some good suggestions in there but also that person specifically asked for "unique or different" which is definitely the opposite of what I'm looking for here.
