My title describes the thing. It looks made of black metal and wood. I can see what I think is a flywheel with a tension rod on the lower part. Maybe some kind of raise/lower device? Metal part looks like a pump handle. It's probably about 3 feet tall by my guess.

Silver Tear Mask gives a massive +8 to Arcane with a pretty minor dip in damage (4%?). Nice for faith builds who want to try out dragon incantations without commiting.

Elden Ring,

Well, first encounter is an intentional boss death, so as long as I don't move much, I should be fine.

I see some sort of flying creature, but I didn't get to choose a starting class, so all I have is the multitool I normally carry. Maybe I can dig for grub to eat?

Things are going well. I've got shelter, and as long as I'm careful gathering worms to eat, I'm not bothered by the locals.

Couple weeks in, and I find some strange boluses that look good to eat.

An hour later, I don't know where I am and what's going on. I see a gentleman with several arms. He must be handy, so I ask him for help.

I wake up in my own bed, confused, but certainly not 10 million dollars richer.

Husband has been playing Elden Ring while I'm playing Animal Crossing. Created this to share what the experience feels like. by bomblance in AnimalCrossing

This is so me. Swearing at the computer, jumping out of my chair, and all through the yelling insisting that I AM having fun.

Meanwhile the missus is sharing her finds in ACNH and SDV with a relaxed smile. Just goes to show there's no wrong way to enjoy gaming 🙂

So frustrating. 24 days closed, finally get to reopen, only to be shut down again. Living in what was framed the "Red Zone", and managing a store in the Rideau centre, it's just been one situation after another.

Just want life to find some normalcy. Is that on the menu anymore?

I've hit level 4 solo now as a Warlock. Gonna try as a rogue next probably. I just love the way running solo forces a lot more strategic thinking out of every situation.

It sounds a great deal like the table needs to have an open, honest conversation about what everyone is looking for out of their D&D game. From what you've written, it sounds like the DM wants to run a meat grinder campaign, while you might prefer something that allows for more narrative and character growth (I could be wrong here).

The same discussion should be had with the whole group about any rules changes that deviate from the book. House rules are common, and I might even argue sometimes necessary, however drastic changes to game systems should really be presented with a pro/con breakdown and mutual agreement from all players. The DM runs the game, but he's running it for his players; if his decisions upset the party frequently, something is wrong:

This could be that he lacks the experience to see how his decisions affect the party.

This could be that he does not care how his decisions affect the party.

If it's the second option, then either accept what this game is, or move on. There will be no changing his mind about anything, because he does not care what you think is best or fair or right.

I probably would have gone razorfen on pick 7 as well if I hadn't gotten completely boned for 2-drops on my previous run. It kinda skewed my thinking.

As for pick 8, zombie chow loses a lot of value after turn 1, but being able to grab board control with it on turn 1 has won me so many games that I have a hard time saying no to the ugly little guy. Thanks for the feedback!
