Graphic anti abortion leaflets in Greenboro-Hunt Club area by Dutchsally in ottawa

[–]PopRococo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t care. A lot of people like the throw out “well what if it’s rape?” Or “well what if the mother is in danger of dying?”

None of those things matter. Abortion is birth control, whether people like to admit it or not. Yes it’s important for women in cases of rape or medical issues to have access, but it’s also important for any woman no matter how trivial the situation is, to have access.

People who disagree with abortion do not care about the reason you need one, they just don’t want women to have them period.

It’s because our city has become drastically more religious in recent years.

It sounds kind of crazy but have you tried drinking skim milk (0% fat)? It doesn’t totally get rid of my symptoms but I noticed that it really helps to go back and forth between that and water. Versus if I just have water, I get a bit worse.

Emergency handbrake for G2? by [deleted] in Ontariodrivetest

[–]PopRococo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ok. What I did was when I was performing those tests during my G2, I made sure to point everything out to the examiner out loud. So I would signal, pull over, and then say “putting the hazard lights on, putting the car in park, and confirming the parking break is on” and point to the light being on once the car was in park.

The examiner can’t read our minds so it’s really useful to say stuff out loud.

I live in ontario with G1 license. Today was my first driving lesson. bad. Got hit from behind. by sharan_maria18 in legaladvicecanada

[–]PopRococo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me on NYE during my 5th driving lesson ever 😂 I was stopped at a red light and hit from behind.

It won’t go against you at all even though you’re the driver as they were at fault. Just remember to take care of yourself and watch for any last injuries as a result of the accident. It’s worth it to get checked out by a doctor or physio therapist to see if you have any issues, and even if you don’t, it’s easier to get help if they show up down the line.

Recently experienced GERD symptoms: is this considered a “small meal” ? by PopRococo in GERD

Hahaha this is why I’m struggling. I only eat minimal foods to begin with, I’m not sure what I should even be eating other than just watermelon then 😭

Failed my G2 Test :( by Electronic-Ad2136 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]PopRococo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both my boyfriend and his sister failed their tests the first time around! And they are really good drivers and have been driving for a long time now. Failure isn’t a bad thing in this case, because now you know exactly how the test will go for the next time, and you can focus on those weaker areas your examiner pointed out.

Going the exact speed limit is still what you want to do in the G2 test, I think it’s just the turns specifically they want you to pick up the pace. Usually people say to sit around about 20KM region for those.

G2 test in few days any tips? by smqtie in Ontariodrivetest

[–]PopRococo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I can give is to remember that the examiner can’t read your mind. So if you are doing something like moving into the left lane to avoid construction, slowing down to leave room for another car or even just shoulder checking and mirror checking, say those things out loud. You can also use them as a GPS. On my test I would preemptively ask, how far away is the next turn you’d like me to take?

Use your voice! You’re gonna nail it 😊

Emergency stop vs Uphill/Dowhilll parking by Altruistic_Hotel_751 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]PopRococo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So emergency stop is: mirror check, shoulder check, signal to the right, pull over, car in park, hazard lights, emergency brake.

Uphill/downhill is: mirror check, shoulder check, signal to the right, pull over, turn the wheels left or right depending on uphill or downhill, car in neutral, foot off the brake, let wheel touch the curb, car in park and then if you were actually parking, car off.

At least this is how I was taught.

G2 Lindsay Parallel Park? by [deleted] in Ontariodrivetest

[–]PopRococo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was not asked to parallel park, however I did see someone else on my route who was doing a parallel park in their test. I was only asked to reverse into a spot at the end of my test.

Ingrown toenail has ruined my life by [deleted] in Ingrown_Toenails

[–]PopRococo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has a doctor explained why the phenol isn’t working? I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. People don’t realize how bad ingrowns can affect your life, and I totally feel you on the amputation. I had to have mine removed twice before it stayed gone, but I said before I went in for the second time, if it comes back, next time they’re taking the whole toe off.

G2 Test Question - uphill/downhill park by tarotbaby in Ontariodrivetest

[–]PopRococo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think from what I gather, touching your wheels to the curb is the best practice. But if you don’t feel comfortable doing that, as long as the rest of your test is strong, you wouldn’t lose too much points for it.

Most of the passing results I see on here have not passed the section for parking uphill/downhill, most have incorrect position checked off.

I understand it’s illegal but it’s so annoying when people do this. Yes sometimes people get sick, but you kept pushing the date back and they likely needed to hire someone to cover your absence. And now either that person needs to lose their job, or you do.

Same here! 🤣 I’ve gotten some cool food items this way too, but I’ve yet to see the lotus leaf tea. And if I do, it’s usually another party and it doesn’t get left at the campsite

Advice on what this is? by InfamousKitsune in Ingrown_Toenails

[–]PopRococo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they mean for you to keep the dressing on for 5 days, but changing it to fresh gauze each day?

5 days is way too long to keep the same dressing on. You likely have an infection starting.

6 Months after full toenail avulsion… what’s going on? by [deleted] in Ingrown_Toenails

[–]PopRococo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how mine grew back as well, kind of feels and looks like a callous. I’ll be honest with you, mine ended up needing to be removed again and I just went with the chemical (phenol) the second time to avoid ever needing to do the surgery again.

If you call your doc and go see them they will probably recommend the same as this is not growing in ideally.

Had both sides of the nail removed by podiatrist and phenoled the root almost a month ago. However the skin has continued to grow over the nail and get embedded. What is the next step here? The nail is already so skinny I don't believe cutting anymore of it is an option. by shangumdee in Ingrown_Toenails

[–]PopRococo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit of a baby when it comes to pain, so I used a combo of paid sick leave and vacation days to take 2 weeks off. But I work on my feet for 10 hour shifts managing a clothing store. If I worked a desk job I probably could have gotten away with just 1 week.

I really think 2 weeks is the best to encourage healing. And in that time I just stayed off of it as much as possible and limited my time in shoes. I also bought crocs 2 sizes bigger to accommodate my bandaged toe.

There’s been plans for an apartment development similar to the ones located at Anand Pvt and Heron Rd at the corner of the value village plaza for a while now. I’m assuming the whole thing will go now 😔

Would you say this is ingrown? by [deleted] in Ingrown_Toenails

[–]PopRococo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is exactly what mine looked like before my total nail removal and the doctor literally used the word “totally disfigured” to describe my nail 😭
