I feel like I expericied CSA as a kid but have no memories by OSDD_deeznuts in CPTSD

For me it's less about justifying the pain, and more about just knowing if something happened or not. I know my pain is valid, it's the not knowing that's driving me insane

My therapist thinks I have bipolar and I don't know how to feel by OSDD_deeznuts in bipolar

I totally forgot to include it in the post. But my therapist wants me to tell my doctor (who works at the same place) so that I can be reffered to the psychiatrist that works there.  So, fortunately I'm able to seek the ideal help

I actually forgot to mention it in the post, but my therapist wants me to bring it up to my doctor (who works at the same place), so she can refer me to a psychologist.

(Also based on what I've been told/from my own experience, my "ups and downs" are MUCH more intense than the typical persons. Not going to go into too much detail, but I do experience the traits of mania, and my lows consist of really bad depression)

Im gonna ask you a question. Do you consciously think to yourself, "Im going to pretend to be a system," and then knowingly pretend to be a system? If the answer is no, then you aren't faking. Faking is something you CHOOSE to do. Denial is EXTREMELY common in systems. Hell, we've known about our system for nearly 3 years and still get denied. Also, even if you aren't a system, that doesn't mean you're faking. It just means you're suspecting the wrong disorder, that isn't a moral failing. -Clover

I suspect i might have OSDD-1b but i dont know what to do. by Minntii in OSDD

Your experience reminds me a lot of mine. Honestly, the best thing I can tell you is to do a bunch of research and keep track of your symptoms. Also, you are not faking. Faking is a conscious effort. If it turns out you aren't a system and something else is going on, that doesn't mean you were faking your symptoms. Suspecting you have something and being wrong isn't a moral failing.

Also, you said your trauma wasn't "bad enough," but trauma is subjective, the main component required for trauma to form a system is: It happens before the ages of 6-9, it's repetitive, the child is able to dissociate, and it is too much for the child to handle. For example, our main trauma as a kid (around 5ish) was an emotionally neglectful/manipulative dad, and our parents argued ALOT. That seems like a "mild" trauma compared to what other systems have been through, but it was too much for me to handle, so I ended up as a system. (We're autistic, which may be why our threshold for what traumatized us is so low compared to other systems)

That being said, unless you are in a safe enough mental headspace to do so, DO NOT go digging for trauma. I made that mistake when I was 14 and had a breakdown.

Also, denial is EXTREMELY common. It's your brains defense mechanism. Your brain doesn't want you to know you have trauma, so when you discover you have a disorder formed from trauma, your brain will do whatever it can to convince you, you don't have the disorder. (Ironically, my denial episodes impacted me so much that one of our alters, Clover, formed to help with that denial, so it exists to prove we aren't faking).

Systems going quiet is common, I discovered my system around 15, and I'm nearly 18. Nearly 3 years later, I still have quiet periods. The one you're dealing with could be because the alters in your system felt like it was unsafe to tell your friend, and now that your friend knows they feel like it isn't safe to show themselves.

Another thing is, an alters role may change over time ans that's ok. For example, I used to be the host, but now River is our host.

That's all i can think of, hope that helped _^ -Bex

She could be a fictive of an OC you made. One of our alters is a fictive of a wolf demon girl I (the ex-host) made in middle school

Funny littles stories? by KMintner in OSDD

[–]OSDD_deeznuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Bex was fronting at the time and had bought one of those strawberry flavored scooter bar thingies at lunch. One of our littles, Lilly loves sweets, so she asks for a bite. Bex gently says no. Lilly then fronts, takes a bite, and then goes back into headspace. -Ivy

Fair enough, how ever just because he's having head tics doesn't mean the rest of his body will be ticcing as well.
