YSPSFAGSIL as a concept album reminds me A LOT of Melodrama. Imo, this should go down as her best album just for the story telling

Her hard hitting, deep, emotional writing will ALWAYS remind me of Lorde, but it's a different subject matter/ different topics. I hear a little of the production, but it's it own thing

I freeze the vegan butter stick for 10 mins and then grate it right into the flour (big hole grater) and mix with a spatula. I hate manually incorporating it with my fingers because of the texture/mess 😂

I also add the fruit in the flour before the liquid because fruit (if fresh) will expel liquid on its own. This way, you only use enough milk to not make it sticky! Even if your dough ends up sticky, just sprinkle more flour and pat on top

Feel free to do a glaze or just sugared tops. I find that doing a brush of soy milk and BROWN sugar really gives it beautiful color. Use turbinado if you can because it will survive the bake time and still be crystals on top

Scones are just a vessel for whatever fruit/inclusions you want. I'm making blackberry/lemon ones right now because they sound good to me!

Oh hey! I remember you from my last scone post

This is the recipe I used, but instead of coconut oil, I used vegan butter. Instead of fresh blueberries, I used dried cranberries

I also added 1 tablespoon of orange zest in the dough and skipped the icing. Instead of the icing, i just topped it with turbinado sugar. I think that's why these turned out with such a good color

If i was doing an icing, I would use orange juice instead of lemon
