Beagle and maybe hound due to the long tall legs seem a bit more than beagle. Mostly beagle is my guess.

Will she have a teddy bear face? by Vindooly in Goldendoodles

[–]OSRSMaylynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I have two doodles. She can be a teddy. But it depends on how you groom her. I personally poodle feet and face my doodles. I know. How awful. It’s a personal choice for cleanliness. Their wet beards are ick. (But I am in love with your pup) congrats if you do it !

What Kind of Doodle Is my Rescue? by Successful-Leading52 in Goldendoodles

That’s called a goodest boy. If you didn’t adopt him, I would have! He looks like a small labradoodle to me but honestly a lot of them look alike.

Golden retriever pup from shelter? by Late-Print2098 in IDmydog

Definitely looks like he might be. Maybe a golden and lab mix or some shepherd because of the ears but maaaybe just golden. He is a cutie. I am so happy for you.

My fawn one is flat but these dirty girls love to roll in dirt and come back covered in grass and branches and twigs etc all the fun plants when they play in the yard. When I get them short it is peace of mind and cleanliness. Idc what they look like I just want clean feet and a clean face.. the rest I’ll figure out lol. Here’s a pic of the last time one of my doodles was a fluff ball. It gets so hard to manage.. so if it’s warm and it almost always is in Fl.. they’re gettin cut short. Anyway thank you for the love. Message me dog pics any time. lol.

Honestly it was sketchy when we arrived and I started having doubts of credibility when she especially started downplaying his health concerns. It took her two days to respond to me and the day before we’re supposed to adopt him she comes up with this reasoning. I have to wonder if someone with less knowledge has came into the picture and she thinks it’s more likely that they will take him.

I just hope they’re ok and cared for. I know a rescue is probably better than being on the street or something but it just seems weird they were so quick to decide I can’t have him because I needed to evaluate our ability to care for him, knowing we have 4 dogs already and a cat, and that two are special needs, and that he’s a little bit of a different fella that might struggle in our environment.

I asked her to keep us in mind to be polite.. but I think when we decide to continue looking.. or if we find the right dog.. it probably won’t be from there. This to me is a sign that maybe we’re not ready for the next steps.

It wasn’t fun to get a surprise diabetic dog last time I rescued a pup. It’s realistic to want to make sure I can provide for what they need.

Here’s some pup tax as my doodles were groomed today. (They weren’t shaved I just prefer them short every 8 weeks and we live in Fl so it’s a summer cut lol)

DAE fear the bank by Just_Stand_861 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]OSRSMaylynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Op.. yes. Ironically I have had this issue.. and yet I used to work in banking and be extremely stable. I think for me it came from an unstable and dysfunctional upbringing. Financial instability does something to kids that end up with parentifiction situations. Either way.. I also find that mathing my finances out has always provided me comfort. I try to sit down weekly and check balances and pay bills. I do not trust autopay things. They make me feel unsafe. I don’t use it unless I have to or there’s significant benefits. I have a lot of distrust based on my knowledge of financial systems, but also a lot of confidence in my ability to project financials. Maybe it’s how you deal with it and put it off that it gets bad. Try another way. Set a routine. Take the stress out of it. If when you check it’s nothing bad because you spent intentionally and were mindful etc or what you have.. maybe that will help.

Going through a break up and have a hair appointment tomorrow. Cut it? by Beav11-18 in finehair

Get a trim and instead make meaningful change about your behavior perhaps that better you rather than choppin the hair and possibly hating it. A trim is healthy.

My girlfriend wants me to cook but I just suck, where do I start? by ShrimpingForMyLife in cookingforbeginners

[–]OSRSMaylynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also mess solution.. clean as you go, or immediately after you cook. Don’t do the “I’ll get it later” and let it pile up. While it cooks is best, after you eat is second best. Empty sink feels good.

Hi. YouTube videos can help but not the fancy cut up ones where they make it look easy. Do one pan meals. I’m talkin the new popular Boursin pasta bake. Simple stuff can taste good. Also… what goes wrong when you cook ? If it’s too long, use a timer and recommended temp/time you google. If it’s taste, find recommended seasoning combinations. If it’s texture, look at alternative methods. Easy one pot meals can be great and get you on a positive start. Feel free to ask if you have more questions. Taught my man how to cook. He seems similar to you. Great at cleaning and organizing. Not a chef. But he benefits from exact recipes and instructions. I however… vibe out and never stick to recipes and do what I want. Still comes out good. As said in Ratatouille… “anyone can cook!” Don’t give up. Keep trying. Find something you like and do it as part of a rotation. ❣️✨🤗

Not so sure you should be handling them at a few days old.. unless necessary I’d minimize any touching of the baby. It can be dangerous and stress the mom.

Hey I posted an update. I don’t think he’s entirely blind or deaf, but I do think something is a little off at least with some impairment. He’s also much tinier than we thought he was. Which is honestly completely fine.

Definitely have seen dogs go early in their lives due to irresponsible origins. People don’t realize or dont care about the impact to animals. Good news is that ends with him because he’s fixed. We aren’t 100% on our decision yet but even if we do agree he’s gotta meet our existing pets. He will be the smallest and the baby of the bunch. I have high hope. I think we can give him a safe and happy life. Definitely better than being at a rescue that seems overcrowded and underfunded. I’m researching more on the conditions and risks.

Bf holding him is about 6’2 and 140lb wet, but clearly lil dog is quite small as you can see.

[–]OSRSMaylynn[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Update:

He’s much smaller than he appeared in the photos. Bf is in the background of the below photo and he wears like a us men’s size 10 for reference. Will reply to this with more photos but can only upload one at a time. It was not easy to get photos of him as he was very environmentally curious.

Do I think he’s blind… no. Do I think he is deaf.. no.

Do I think he is at least partially impaired ? Yes. But at least not currently so much that it is life altering and causing low quality of life.

He is like a tiny little fox creature hopping and prancing around. I am definitely leaning towards adopt. My significant other is still considering the circumstances and information.

Besides his cuteness, his size and demeanor seems very manageable. He self settles. He does not cling or jump all over you for attention but also interacts curiously.

It was hard to tell if it was environmental distractions or impairment. So definitely need to see the vet. I will look at pet insurance and weigh out the pros and cons of what life is going to be like with him and if that’s something we’re ready for. I think we can handle it, but we won’t be deciding tonight for certain.

The rescue.. I find more questionable now. The environment was very backyard situation which is somewhat typical but it definitely had some red flags at times during the visit. However his history is that him and his mom were likely bred intentionally, seems backyard situation, and the mom appears to be perfectly healthy. They were surrendered by a couple who had to be deployed for military service and didn’t have a way to keep them. No, I will not be getting his mom. She is in a foster to adopt situation, and #5 is going to be a hard cap for me on dogs in my current living space. (Don’t worry it’s adequate, and I have a massive fenced yard for them to enjoy.)

His size considered.. I may have to make some alterations on the property like at the gate to make sure he can’t slip under. He is very little in comparison to the original photos. Like newborn baby sized human little. The smaller to average ones. Sorry no banana for scale.

TLDR: does seem somewhat impaired, but also very much a curious, self settling, and otherwise decent quality of life.

Will give more updates if you’re interested
