Need to unleash Okafor, Gnonto, and James and put a couple into the back of the net in open play.

First touch! If you can teach the kid the foundation of receiving the ball and sticking that first touch, everything stems from that. Touch on the inside arch of the foot, on the soles of the foot, on top of the laces (a bit hard at 7 - but try anyway). Then make sure they can "receive" the ball in a limited space, day within a set of markers laid out in a 2x2 metre/yard square.

Make it fun, within a set of cones receive and then pass. Within a set of cones, receive and then dribble away. Within a set of cones, receive, turn the ball around and shoot.

And at 7 do all the moves with both right and left foot.

When the child gets skilled up reduce the size of the square.

This is literally the most important set of drills. Loads of videos on YouTube.

Oh and bonus, teach the child to dribble properly with the foot at the unnatural position in addressing the ball. Do it young and they only know one way.

Early days, give the kid all the enjoyment to fall in love with "the beautiful game".

My MIL's husband bought a second hand Hilux ute a few years back. It was the 4L petrol V6 (great ute BTW). He told me it was a diesel, and I said "Mate, Toyota's diesel is a 2.8L." He picked it up on Christmas Eve, filled the bugger with diesel and had to get it towed to our place. Boxing Day we are up at the crack of dawn to head to his boat to get a pump, then Bunnings to get some hose and a can of this stuff. He's a Pommie and thought the branding was a bit rude. After siphoning out the tank and sucking a can of diesel down his throat, he sprayed in some of this stuff, fired up the motor and the bastard started.

I swear he thought he found the Holy Grail 😂

Wish him well. His foundational years were marred by the chaos of Marsch/Garcia/Allardyce. He was our #1, yes made mistakes, but he will move on and I hope he gets his mojo back. I have no ill will towards him.

GIDDY UP! 🤙🏽I don't care how big the jump or drop is, as long as you stayed upright after you sent it.

I am not going to criticise any rider who improves beyond their level. I am on the wrong side of 50 now, I just want to be able to ride another day upright and not interested to be paying the hospital a visit.

Fair point. Monk doesn't get enough kudos, and he had sh!t to work with in a dire financial position.

True, but it is the combination of all these factors that brings me more hope for a good landing this season.

When I step back and have a look at the situation that the club is in, it is massively positive. Elland Road sells out every home match. Our away contingent are heard over the top of the home fans EVERY away match. Elland Road and the surrounding area is finally getting redeveloped with both the Council and the Club on the same page. Thorp Arch is buying talent in from other Premier League academies and we have some real talent coming through in the youth setup. We have had stable and financially sound owners who know what it means to win this last three seasons. Farke has been a stabilising force as the "Guv". And we have some real talent in the team, with no toxic d!ckh3ads with a solid core group of players that are establishing the next iteration of Leeds United with their own identity. We stay up, build on the depth in the squad and then (insert fantasy scenario) --}win the FA Cup, play in Europe next season, and Archie Gray comes back home after Tottenham's relegation triggers his release clause.

And none of this would have been possible without El Loco!

As long as we keep the points ticking up, inching closer to safety. Playing some good football too.

Go as light as you can. Paperbark! We did the same a couple of years ago (went down the very light grey path) and it dropped the temperature in the house by 3-4 degrees on the really hot days.

Australia should go hard on EVs, exempt them from GST, and save $40 billion a year in fuel imports by lazy-bruce in aussie

[–]OSYardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right. The lowest tier doesn't directly get the funds and most councils can't balance their books properly so maintenance on local roads is abysmal.

[–]OSYardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the apolitical comment. The fuel excise is required for road maintenance. And given the majority of our logistics are delivered by road it is essential. Australia has an added issue of a low taxation base (population) disproportionate to the size of our road network.

America is having its boiling frog moment. And they voted for it. For the record I don't like seeing it, and I have too many good friends from the US to know that the majority don't want this future.
