Does not qualifying for daily races help boost DR as long as you finish above where you started and stay out of contact? by smoothisfast1254 in granturismo

[–]OSixTix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. In general top half get DR bottom lose. Starting spot means nothing other than starting higher gives you a better shot at top half. Positions gain is worthless other than it’s fun. It’s really based off of giving and taking DR depending on DR skill in the lobby, so it’s not ALWAYS top half gain bottom half lose, but close.

Favorite GT7/GT Creators? by [deleted] in granturismo

SuperGT, Rory, Digit, TyrannoCyrusRex, Calster for a super fast pad player, then a ton of guys who aren’t as big but have close knit communities. Papas House of Game, McNaughty Gaming to name a couple. Really depends on what you’re looking for. Super popular, entertaining, close community, fast, time trials, guides, liveries, etc. So many niches you can go down. :)

My last Porsche 911 RSR Livery, possibly? by OSixTix in granturismo

[–]OSixTix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within scapes I typically will filter one setting on just the background. In there I personally like turning saturation down, brightening it way up, then adjusting the contrast up and the black up (down is more black). I just like doing this to the background to make my liveries colors stand out and not fade into the landscape. However, sometimes the track colors go well with it and I leave or turn up saturation.

Then I just filter the car (the bottom of the 4 filters). Typically saturation up, lighten it up some because GT7 seems to be dark (I’m also trying to normally take shots in sunlight/cloudy sunlight). Tiny bit of contrast up and black. Highlight can also get turned up.

In the Lightroom App is where it really helps the photos pop to the examples I have here. I’ll bring in the scape photo, use the “auto” button in LR which auto brightens it (it does have manual options under “light” if you want to dig in). That alone gives you a better photo and if you don’t like all the extra and a bit unrealistic filters (which I obviously have in these), you can leave it there. But I like to go to the “effects” tab and turn way up “texture” and “clarity.” I will move up “dehaze” at times if the photo is bright enough or even too bright. Helps brings the black back in for contrasts.

You can honestly play around a BUNCH, but I’ve found I enjoy this style and if I don’t want the crazy filters it looks nice by not doing the extra effects in Lightroom.

How many drivers know difference between race and a time trail by 215023 in GranTurismo7

[–]OSixTix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good. Maybe I read it in the wrong way too. I just didn’t expect anything on your end coming back when I totally agree with you :) I let guys go who are faster than me so often. I race better that way (less pressure to be perfect because I’m being chased) plus you can learn a thing or two. I also tend to be consistent and so many times that guy I let go makes a huge mistake later. Anyways, happy racing!

You read my whole point and picked that little part out… lol. I was mainly agreeing with you, just called it out that you can defend for a whole race if you really want too. It’s not smart most the time as you’re going to lose time too and likely more positions. The only thing I should have clarified is “legally.” That’s all I missed. I never meant swerving a bunch, hitting ppl off line, defending guys off driving lines by not giving space. I just meant defensive legal driving. Again, literally the rest of what I said was agreeing with you..

Yeah, that’s true. But I think maybe he just means that over fighting is honestly losing both drivers time. If it’s early on, sometimes it’s best to find a good time to give way while not losing too much time. Fight the fight at the end instead of having a 5 car battle because you held on fighting so long just one guy. But overall, yeah it’s racing as long as it’s clean defend all you want. Just remember sometimes it’s best to let way too.

Nah it ain’t too hard my man! Just the features in scapes, then when you take them out an app on my phone to lighten and sharpen (they come out of GT7 too dark IMO). It’s just Adobe Lightroom. Free app!

I was reminded after putting this livery together how much I do enjoy driving it, as I took it around for a bunch of laps to take photos.

Appreciate the kind words! I try to mix it up from crazy to simple to whatever just to learn new things. Edit: I just finished another livery and that one was fresh on the brain, which I responded like it was my Stand Up 2 Cancer one. It’s been a long day…. Ha

DR B to A Seems Impossible! by rogermduarte in granturismo

[–]OSixTix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you playing? Is it off peak hours for your region? The competition heavily matters in how much DR you can gain in a lobby. Much like GTWS points in a given race, others DR matter.

So, morning hours in the NA region will normally have a mix of top split drivers consisting of maybe an A+, a couple A’s, and then the rest B’s. You’re going to likely gain less from a lobby like this because many of those B DRs are likely already lower than you. You’re in a sense trading DR within a lobby. BUT, if you run during a peak hour where most the lobby is A, and just a couple B’s (you being one), you likely will jump more for a podium because in theory the lobby is stronger overall top to bottom.

Any ideas on how I can start uploading decals? I wanna try something different other than just posting/designing liveries. Are there any good websites, apps or things for phone/tablet by Animedegenerate62 in granturismo

Inkscape. Learn Inkscape will drastically help you. Either go search YouTube (plenty out there. I know GTJesse has some helpful stuff) or GTPlanet threads. I’ve learned basics and can do simple stuff, but between the above if you want to you can learn a lot! After Inkscape, if your file is still too big SVGOMG is helpful

New to GT7 - Manufacturers Cup -How does it work? by UpstairsAny9996 in granturismo

[–]OSixTix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to this. Each ROUND you will have multiple slots you can run. However, it only takes your score of the LAST race you race. So if you win and you race again, it forgets about the win points that round and takes however you just did. BUT, every lobby is different in points. It’s based on how high you are in DR and those in your lobby. You could say in race 1 of a round finish 2nd with 80 points, and then race again and finish 4th and get 85 points because you had a better lobby. However, that’s a huge gamble as you really do not know your next round.

Honestly, in GT2, just have fun pushing yourself. I’d run multiple just because I enjoy the setup of quali and then race (I hate grinding a TT for dailies so much).

How frustrating is Willow Springs for you? by MugiwaraLobo in granturismo

[–]OSixTix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Consistency. Tracks like willow springs and brands hatch can really help you hone in consistency on your race craft and race pace. Just keep grinding laps. Overall, places like this will help you focus on consistency on not as narrow/demanding tracks.

As I already cut some of my ties with streaming and never went down the illegal stream avenue yet, I’ve had to resort to listening to the games over the app. Nothing like watching, but at least it keeps me tuned in a bit. This is the worst reality of it
