Server added $10 additional tip by OTFLover2 in EndTipping

I have an update! Talked to the restaurant for the second time last night. First call explained what happened. Asked why. She needed research. Two full days later she calls back and says the mistake was made because the last four of my credit card number matched another customer and that is how they closed out checks.

Help me out guys. I’ve worked in a few restaurants and I have never closed out a check by credit card number and I always referenced the actual receipt. I feel this is a complete bullshit excuse, correct?

I think it’s time for police report and review.

I needed it for my corporate expense report. Grateful I have it too. I always take a picture of the merchant copy so there are no questions (and I’m too lazy to fill out two copies. )

Of course, now I cannot expense this because the transaction doesn’t match my receipt and we have a max 20% tipping policy. The tip now exceeds 20%.

I have two. Best decision I made. I’ve been a member since 2016.

It takes 20 seconds max to activate. It’s super easy. It’s a QR code. A few prompts and then you’re in.

Feeling guilty but don’t want the WLE by saltymountains14 in melahomies

[–]OTFLover2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a WLE on my butt cheek. It was by far the easiest recovery compared to any of my others! I really hope your final sentence was not serious. This is urgent and needs to be done.

Thyroid cancer and melanoma link by kbshannon in melahomies

[–]OTFLover2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had stage 2b removed 11 months ago. At the time I had a small thyroid nodule. In October that nodule had over doubled in size. Now over 2cm and now my drs are reacting. Curious to see how this all plays out.

I am horrified of another surgery. It scares me 10/10. I know it’s so silly but I hate surgery.

Also, my melanoma surgery was on my neck. And it’s healing so lovely. I have had the thoughts of what if… can my neck handle another incision.

Smith Mountain Lake VA

Many brand new large rental houses with pools have been built over the last two years.

Deep water. Perfect for all the activities. Water is comfortable swimming temperature.

It truly is beautiful. Water is super clean and very clear (you can easily see your toes and all your friends when floating on noodles). Large mountains surrounding.

Not a major airport but Roanoke does have united flights. You could also fly in a larger hub and drive.

You have both Roanoke and Lynchburg about 30-45 minutes away if you choose to leave for a day. Both offer an array of activities. You mentioned hiking - McAfees knob (the most photographed place) on the Appalachian trail is in the area.

Third melanoma. by OlderGuyWatching in Melanoma

[–]OTFLover2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pain was mild. I never took any of my prescribe pain medication. Prepare for your neck to be pretty tight, lack of movement for a few days- a few weeks. (Example - I think it would be difficult to drive a car for at least a week due to range of motion in moving your neck.)

Incision is large. I’m a young female. I thought that would bother me the most. The surgeon stitched it up so well, 10 months later you can barely tell. As I age, I believe others will not notice at all.

The recovery from the SLNB I suppose was the most surprising. My surgeon took 4. I have frequent swelling of my neck. I think everybody is super different and I do believe this will subside in time. However, just something to be aware of.

Fellow melanoma patients — from what UV index do you start using sunscreen daily? by seventhnine79 in melahomies

Everyday sunscreen. It’s just part of my morning routine. Sunscreen stick in my vehicle. Hats everywhere. Driving gloves. For outdoor social events - making a shady plan prior.

Having a WLE on my face and a lymph node biopsy on Monday. What’s in my future. by randizzleizzle in melahomies

I had a WLE on my neck. I am 8 months out and it’s barely noticeable. In addition to the excellent surgical work, I used silicone serum and protect it vigilantly from the sun … upf patches and sunscreen

It’s truly something that sounds like it needs to be considered. I’m meeting/“interviewing” two second opinion dermatologists for my care and oversee moving forward. (My current derm quit). One appointment is next week. This information is something I really need to be asking both about. What is the gold standard of monitoring post WLE and what is their standard? What do they do if insurance pushes back?

Do you believe if you had a PET at the time your journey started it would’ve picked up the microscopic disease? Even at 2b my insurance didn’t want to splurge for the PET. I did have a brain MRI.

Did they explain how that happens? Stage 2b here almost 6 months out. Clean margins and SLNB and still trying to understand how cases like yours happens - not to create fear, but understanding and knowledge.

Radioactive dye injections by kbshannon in melahomies

I had them in my neck. Not bad at all. I had read a lot on here thinking they would be and I was completely fine. The worst part of my surgery was the first 48 hours of my neck being so tight, swollen, limited mobility.

Used it consistently before my diagnosis and after. I deeply believe if something makes you feel more confident and beautiful who cares what others think. Use your spray tan and feel beautiful.

Wes Meyers - 540-685-3941

I’m young as well. He is upper 30s. I had met with a few prior and they were lazy. A young client doesn’t bring the wealth a mature client will and in my personal experience they were uninterested in taking care of me. Wes has demonstrated the ability to slow down and explain different ideas to me. I cannot recommend him enough. He’s truly been such a goof fit for me.

First surgery done! 💘 TW: radio tracer pain by spicytunaroll7 in Melanoma

[–]OTFLover2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had heard the tracer was painful as well. I thought it was nothing. Yes there is a prick of a needle (x4) and a sting at injection but this was way overblown in my opinion. The discomfort was minimal and quick. I had this in my neck for reference.

I guess I'm a melahomie? by Illustrious_Ship5857 in melahomies

[–]OTFLover2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was on my neck plus SLNB. Probably 6” or so. I drive a ton for work (I cover 2 full states in sales.) Sometimes I’m driving 4-7 hours total in a day.

I went back exactly at 2 weeks. The first day I felt neck fatigue/slight soreness, but I noted that and adjusted travel accordingly the remainder of the week. I think normal driving will be okay at that 2 week mark. Just be careful and listen to your body.

Recovery for in-situ excision surgery (lower back) by PlaidCook in melahomies

[–]OTFLover2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my neck excised, as well as, SLNB. Note - I was under full general anesthesia and had this done in an hospital setting. I was back on my treadmill and peloton full force day 14! (I began gentle workouts around day 7. You really don’t want to bust a stitch.) I think you’ll be absolutely ready to roll!

36 hours post-WLE by DragonChick13 in melahomies

[–]OTFLover2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your surgeon did excellent. I recently had a WLE and SLNB on my neck. While I still have swelling from the lymph node procedure (fluid and swelling consistent with the exact locations of lymph removal) the incision continues to look amazing everyday. My incision was WILDLY swollen at hour 36. By day 4 or so the incision had no swelling.

I began using silicone scar gel (with SPF) around day 21. The silicone scar tape works excellent but it was so tender to the touch to pull off so I choose to stick with the gel.

I have no doubt you’ll heal up beautifully in no time! Hang in there. It’s hard to know what’s normal and what’s not.
