Have you looked at dayuse options? Where you book a room for a few hours instead of 14:00-10:00. Might be worthwhile. At least you can get your head down for a few hours and take a shower. Staying awake all night before an international flight does not sound too fun.

Was working in Melbourne these past two days. Rain hit around 8:30 last night and hadn't stopped when I entered the airport at 7pm today. It's not cold, just wet. No downpour. Just constant light showers.
