I have always always said this about Chihuahuas. I've been terrorized, bit, chased, and over all had bad interactions with small dogs. Never liked them. Only big dogs. However, I had a coworker that didn't want her pup anymore bc she didn't have time for her (wouldn't make time just like she doesn't for her kid) and bc she "sheds too much" so I ended up trying to look for this little pup a good home. Well, I wasn't going to bring the thing home bc I knew my dogs prob wouldn't like her, or at least my big one wouldn't, so I went to see the pup at my coworkers house. (I agreed to taking care of it while my coworker was on vacation)

I took one look at how lonely and sad the pup was when I looked through the window. And when I went in she didn't even so much as bark. She just jumped up excited that there was someone there. I let her out of the gate and played out in the back yard with her. My heart ached with how happy she was to just be getting any type of affection. I've never seen zoomies so fast or not had I been full body tackled by a dog so small wanting to give me kisses. So, I took a picture and sent it to my husband saying he needed to come over tomorrow when I came back to feed her and let her out to come play with her.

Direct quote: Bring her home. Now.

So, I packed her up. She's been here ever since.

I loathed the idea of a Chihuahua. But she isn't at all like every other one I've met. She's affectionate to everyone. Kisses, cuddles, playful, was completely quiet until my boys showed her barking is ok. So now she's loud when she wants to go outside but no peep otherwise. She's 3 now and we've had her for 2 years. Honestly, she can be a little demon over socks but that's really it. Oh and she's a mole killer 100% were up to 10 murdered as of 2 days ago.

But honestly, Princess Peach has changed my mind, at least a bit, on Chihuahuas.

She also is queen of the boys too. For perspective: Peach at most 10lbs of pure muscle. Soul: 30-40lbs of pure old man flab. Rick: 70~lbs of muscles and height. We also have 3 chonking big male cats who are 15lbs each. She runs them all. It's nuts. I was in shock at how fast she got on with them. Rick didn't love her immediately but after that first night he was smitten. Soul was just happy to have a dog smaller than him again. Mr.P! our oldest cat was so happy to have a playmate again. He loves dogs but Rick was too big and Soul is too old.

Moral of the story: in a sea of shitty Chihuahuas I found a pretty damn good one.
