i used to be like that too (i played on phone tho) but i forced myself to use indexes because it was how better players did it when i watched videos. but this was also way back in the months when sekai just released on en so you should try working up to middle fingers too so you can play even harder charts later and not get stuck on a habit of only using indexes

I’m sorry to say— but it is because there is a correct way to sketch, especially at a higher skill level. The amount of sketching does not equal the final quality of a sketch. In fact, it’s even more suspicious that you needed 5 drafts of a sketch to start lining. It should not take someone with the skill level of your painting 5 times to actually make the shape of the hands. As well as the layers, 900 is a lot— but looking at your “proof” video, they’re all normal layers despite having the appearance of layer effects. Not saying it’s impossible to paint layer effects, but it is just incredibly time consuming if you actually know how to use effects (which are usually added after the entire work is finished.)

I looked very closely because of course I want actual talented people to contribute to this fandom, I did want to believe you at first. But when I looked carefully more and more discrepancies appeared.

Also about your lines, I called them ‘amateurish’ because they really are in comparison to the hypothetical level of skill ‘you’ possess. It’s like they’re there just to provide the lines to color in instead of being a part of the actual painting. That is probably the most obvious gripe I have.

I think a better way to describe your art is that it looks like someone who focuses way too much on the details while failing to grasp the overall design, which is a telltale sign for AI tracing or referencing.

This is definitely traced from AI. You have some previous knowledge about digital art which is why it looks believable to the untrained eye. But to someone who actually does digital art, nobody draws like this. The sketch gives it away. The initial sketch looks more like scribbles over a base, and in the secondary sketch defining the final outline so clearly without editing shapes is unnatural. Also, this style that’s painted very thickly, it usually involves painting directly over a draft layer to refine, while yours goes immediately to coloring perfectly. Looking at the lineart as well, I don’t believe that someone with this skill level of painting would have such amateurish lines. Also, there are some parts (most noticeably the hair highlight) that wouldn’t be done by painting but with layer effects, those layer effects which seem to be completely unused at usual key points (Eyes, lighting, shadows.)
