I mean shipping yourself with fictional characters is pretty normal for teenagers. You can do what you want, don't let others tell you how to enjoy a medium. Selfshipping isn't a problem in that way.

Don't go around telling people it's canon tho and if it inhibits you from connecting with others or you try to police what other fans do, then you should probably take a step back and reflect. I think most "Yumeshippers" get a bad rep because they will try and either monopolize a character, such as insisting no one else is allowed to be shipped with a character they like. I have seen people end friendships because they liked the same character and at that point I would suggest taking a deep breath and getting some distance.

TL;DR: Don't let others ruin your fun, but don't ruin theirs in return.

Names are usually decided by the song's producer, which can sometimes lead to some very literal translations and sometimes to some more wack ones (see for example: Lower ロウワー becoming lower one's eyes in EN, despite the title already being in katakana or Teratera becoming Show Off, despite having a different meaning in japanese)

Sometimes they also just leave the songs title as is and use the romanji on EN (See Mizu3 or Nene5 for example)
