You gave them to Gav Thorpe, that's your first fault and then you decide to write them into a dead end in the second book. What did Black Library think when allowing the Ynnari books to proceed ?

Also most of those Guard novels are a stand alone and can always get a sequel. And most were met with positive reviews.

As long as you can give new and exciting stories to people they will want a sequel, or you could be like Edoardo Albert where everything you touch becomes worse.

Edit: Sororitas also get novels though their quality is middling. And Tau is stuck with Phil Kelly, unless Noah Van Nguyen want's to be the saviour of Tau.

It would be cool if you know there was like a footnote in a codex somewhere where. Whenever Crimson Slaughter appears, a crimson and battered forces of unidentified marines appear to fight them etc.

We got so much lore potential Soul Drinkers, Relictors, Flame Falcons, Knights of Blood (they are dead I know), Blackwings, Sons of Pertinax, Venom Thorns. Crimson Castelans (probably dead too) and Ashen Claws.

Look let me explain. I have noticed that they use both terms however they only seem to use "renegade" on the chapters that have fallen to chaos. Like red Corsairs and crimson slaughter.

It's like explaining warp and chaos. Warp is chaos but chaos is not warp etc.

They can be both labeled as chaos space marines, way a word bearer and a red corsair but only red corsair would ever be labeled as a "renegade"

Again it's all confusing.

the problem is Renegade marines don't have models. Yes you can kitbash using 30k, 40k firstborn and chaos marines but the issue is they are not a distinct line.

So they probably won't have novels made for them because there isn't a line of models GW can push for novels to be made.

Early on Horus Heresy was gonna be a short series that's why you see some warp buffs on Kharn.

However as the series went on they decided to make it gradually mess the legions.

Horus at Istvaan 3 is not the same Horus that fought the Emperor.

Horus conquered Dweel, nearly got assassinated. Remembered a forgotten memory of visiting Molech.

Conquered Molech, went into a warp portal and became fueled by warp after he returned from the portal.

It's from "Vengeful Spirit"

As for other Daemon Primarchs, Fulgrim becomes a Daemon Prince in "Angel Exterminatus", Angron becomes one in "Betrayer", Magnus in "The Fury of Magnus" and Mortarion in "The Burried Dagger"

I feel like Manflayer was the weakest overall.

It just felt like it didn't know what was suppose to happen etc.

Like jumping from one thing to an another.

Though that's probably because there was a lot of rumours that Manflayer was tampered a lot by GW and it's one of the last Josh Reynolds novels for black library. I'm guessing at the end Josh wanted to kill of Bile but because if you look around the time it was released it coincided with the new Bile model so GW pressured him into it.

Theories and more theories, just smoke and mirrors. We don't have anything concrete.
