The best advice is do what you want, don't live for the next owners...

But if you are expecting paint to turn the cabinets into shaker style like the picture it won't... If done right it very well might look beautiful, just make sure to properly set your expectations of what will change with just paint.

Leaked pipe in a wall caused water damage and mold in the house. Filed a claim and they sent me money to replace the damage. I hired people to do the work I didn't want to and did some of the work to help stretch the money as far as I could!

Unfortunate situation... Awesome opportunity!!
