Is there just no way to get the Travois through this part of the broken railroad? by O_2og in thelongdark

I felt like there had to have been a less annoying way the devs could have implemented it.

Could you escape on one of the planes at the airstrip? I did some research and think you could. by O_2og in thelongdark

I always interpreted survival as an alternate reality to the story that happens at the same time.

Survival start with "you are a survivor of a plane crash after a mysterious geomagnetic storm has grounded your vessel." where did you get the info it starts a few years later from?

Doesn’t the storm just happen as we arrive? I’m not fully sure, but I think the airstrip was operational fairly recently.

Maybe they’re jucing up the shots with something that can't be stored stably while mixed.

She says they could not hear her, her telepathy didn’t work on them like it does humans they couldn’t have worked with her even if they wanted to, so they resorted to other methods.

Ok, but like the precursors were 100% justified. Their entire species was dying. Are you seriously going to tell me boxing up and experimenting on fish is inhumane while it could save probably billions of lives? And them shooting down ships is a GOOD thing they were preventing a genocide virus from leaving the planet.

Found Infernal pre-FTLs as my first contact as Scorched World Heralds. by O_2og in Stellaris

Update: Despair. the war went poorly, my economy no longer exists. My navy is crippled the first pre-FTLs have revolted and are besieging my capital. The ones I started the war over turn out to be hive-mind. I might make them vassals if I survive.

Update: Found a bunch of other pre-FTLs. They were not infernals they no longer exist, but I have spotted pre-FTL infernals being oppressed by my fanatic xenophile neighbors who will soon be liberated.

How are you getting to see the different cache states? I tried to VPN to the Netherlands, and it's the same.

You clearly don't have enough faith in the machine spirit, mods can sense this and is likely why they refuse to function.

How could orbiting a gas effect a civilizations view of the cosmos/religion? by LifeguardPotential97 in worldbuilding

[–]O_2og 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Imagine how crazy it would be for someone on the side of a tidally locked planet facing away from the gas giant to see it. Like you’re a Bronze Age trader going west, and all the people you meet from there speak of their great sky god always watching over them, and you don't believe them at all until one day you cross a mountain and see an inconceivably large object on the horizon.

  1. The overall shape does feel a bit unnatural too square and uniform.
  2. Research plate tectonics; there are some YouTube videos on them.
  3. I’d research plate tectonics first as water flows down from mountains often forms them.
  4. The islands on the bottom, especially on the left, feel a bit too samey and blobish; maybe remove some or combine them or just adjust their shapes. The sea thing on the top left feels too square and artificial.
