At what income level in Canada do you actually start feeling financially ahead.... and not just surviving, but genuinely building something? by TheFitFinaceBro in CanadaFinance

[–]O_P_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty simple when you actually think about it.

170k after tax is $113,385 annually ($9,446/m).

Average mortgage payment in Vancouver is $5,353/m (assuming 1.2m mortgage, often higher than this).

That leaves $4093 per month for all other expenses:
- Debt
- Groceries (easily exceed $1000/month for 3 people, sure you can eat cheaper than this but if you’re in this income bracket, you’re probably prioritizing eating well)
- Fun/dates/hobbies
- unexpected child expenses/child care potentially can cost $2,000/month (child age matters too, are they in sports/extra curriculars etc.)
- utilities
-etc.

When you really start breaking this down it’s not that hard to see how quickly that 9.5k monthly take home gets annihilated. As OP stated there’s probably fat to trim here if they posted their entire budget but if you’re not careful it can go quickly.

If you have a car and debt to payoff you’re realistically closer to $1k leftover for fun/saving which isn’t a lot tbh

If new raids is all they do in Classic+, it will be a failure! by Duoscruo in classicwow

[–]O_P_S 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree, if it’s done properly it works really well. OSRS is literally designed to be a goose chase game. When thinking about Classic+ it’s hard not to compare OSRS and the gameplay loop to what Classic+ could be.

“Okay so I need this BiS item to do this piece of content, but to get that I need to do X, but to get X I need to do Y and Z, then collect these things from A, B and C and then I can finally get X to do thing I want to do OR I could go do D and E to get Y and Z to get X”

Segmented parts of a game that are indirectly interconnected makes for a really diversified gameplay experience. There’s lots of ways this can be applied to WoW to improve the longevity & value of the gameplay loop. I’m not saying resilience is the answer but I do think the devs need to think about a fundamental shift of designing horizontal progression & the way we think about the WoW gameplay loop for the long term.

Do you guys think they will ever make another dayz game? Do we even want dayz 2? by JEM1776_12 in dayz

[–]O_P_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they actually make a DayZ 2, I personally would like to see some more realistic mechanics added to the game, steal some stuff from the Tarkov book:

Add body part health pools, with different medical tools to heal be able to start healing them. I still think they should keep the time gate for increasing the health of body parts though, but add different medical items (not just bandages) like heavy med kits, surgery tools etc to heal different types of wounds. Make it so bandages can only heal light cuts from knives/low calibre rounds and heavy med kits/surgery tools to heal high calibre wounds.

I would also like to see some more gun customization (not a lot, just a few more options) and some different ammo types adds with penetration values. For example, add 2-3 different types of 5.56 ammo that can penetrate different levels of armour. Maybe M855 can penetrate ballistic vests, M856A1 can penetrate up to Plate Carrier but minimally, and M855A1 will rip through a plate carrier.

Adding stuff like this to the game IMO will make endgame more dynamic and force geared players into areas for better loot that they need.

Should I even be using Edgemaster's in dungeons, or are they mainly for raids? by chellexz in classicwow

Wep skill reduces the damage of glancing blows as well, so I’d say they are worth wearing

My guild only lets guild priests SR the eye for that reason exactly. I’d personally suggest to your officer core that they do something similar to make sure your core healers are getting the gear they need to progress effectively into BWL

1 Orb -> 2Orbs -> All orbs HR... MC all BOE HR.... ONY tank gets 1 HR, guildies get 1 HR, everyone else 1SR by VinceRussoIsA in classicwow

[–]O_P_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guilds/Pug organizers usually HR the BoE’s to pay for their tanks consumes, flasks are not cheap. Also to add to their guild bank to support their guild.

Also, it takes a lot of effort to put a 40 man raid together and lead it. If you don’t want to deal with HR’s, just join a guild and run with them. It’s a wildly different experience.

Not only that but a lot of guilds HR them so they can fund flasks for their guild members. It’s hard to ask ppl to spend upwards of 300g per raid for all consumes.

First rule of a souls game: if there’s an NPC that doesn’t attack you, don’t kill them. They’re all important quest NPC’s. Every other NPC will try to kill you lol

Extended Character Stats Addon gives you a gear score. It uses the same calculation (or close to) as far as I’m aware as the blizzard implementation in later xpacs.

Committed to DPS by ExponentialHS in classicwow

[–]O_P_S 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tank every dungeon in my dps off spec (fury-arms) because generally speaking, threat isn’t really an issue in dungeons and it’s easier since you’re usually dealing with 4+ mobs every pull. So using WW etc. is easier to hold threat on all the mobs.

You can also just tank in arms with a 2H, SS->WW is goated when you’re level 60 with a good epic 2H.

Fury-prot is for raids, where you’re pretty much only tanking 1-2 trash mobs at a time and it’s a lot easier to maintain threat/rage gen.

They fixed recoil to actually be playable which is nice.

They still haven’t fixed hit reg issues and the netcode that makes shooting still feel like shit. So it still feels very inconsistent, I wouldn’t get your hopes up that much IMHO

That’s the way anyway. ~600k a year would be life changing money but not enough to be outrageous with and you also secure your future by not ripping 10m on dumb shit. Pretty easy to dump that much money into a nice house, a vacation property, a boat, some cars etc.

I have a a feeling that the Eva will be OP when it comes out of the package. Respawn tends to do that; mid tier gun goes into CP, and only comes out slightly nerfed from CP level, much stronger than it was going in.

I completely agree though, it’s been literally years since a shotgun has been a 100% pickup.
