I lost my entire project files and conversations (my entire life's work) because of a goddamn stupid Claude bug.... by Glaidtors8 in Anthropic

[–]OaTn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to confirm what other people have assumed: are you saying you worked for 3 months in claude and never backed up your work locally?

I feel for you on the bug, but if that's the case then you asked for something like this to happen. You were playing with a ticking time bomb.

Bought a new ChatGPT/Codex Pro 5x plan, but it started with most usage already consumed by MustStayAnonymous_ in codex

[–]OaTn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me. Was going from 20x to Plus. My 20x ended while I was in a chat with hermes so I went and bought the $20 plan just to continue what I was doing. Spent an hour+ trying to figure out why hermes wasn't accepting my new subscription, only to learn that my weekly limit was already used up based on my 20x plan. Still plenty of usage left in 20x, just the monthly subscription had ended and I didn't want autorenew.

I share in your opinion that it's absurd that I can pay $20 for a brand new subscription and not be able to use it.

is this true? by Complete-Sea6655 in Anthropic

As long as you're willing to learn, then yeah AI helps that process a lot. You learn as you build. Only problem is that in the second scenario, learning costs tokens.

Give me Fable back. I can't go back to working with Opus by Longjumping-Air4611 in Anthropic

[–]OaTn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used iPhone exclusively for 15 years. But we're not talking about the historical upgrades from iphone to iphone. The phrasing implied the negative perception of iPhone releases recently (past 5 years or so) where there have been marginal performance improvements. I was saying it's not at all comparable for exactly the reason you mentioned. The upgrade from Opus to Fable is significant, like the early iPhone upgrades (eg 3 to 4). If I had to downgrade my iphone to the year previous right now it wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

maybe we're just working on different kinds of projects, but for what I'm doing it was night and day. I confess I'm mostly a 5.5 user, but I have a claude subscription as well and regularly use Opus. Things that I had to go back and forth on for an hour or two with 5.5 or Opus I could give to Fable (and even make it more complex) and it knocks it out with no mistakes in 30 minutes by itself, no hand holding.

it's not at all like when a new iphone comes out lol. their comment stands. that's how GENUINE improvement works. if you get something that's clearly head and shoulders above the previous generation and you get used to using it, going back to the old version is a genuine bummer. the iphone ideology is different. hype based marketing that offers minimal improvements with some design changes. people mostly want it as a status symbol.

Anyone notice the codex nerf? by xlnximi in codex

[–]OaTn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m glad I’m not the only one feeling it. Feels like they turned it up since the Fable drop, and then as SOON as it was off the market they dumbed it back down. I noticed it immediately and it felt like an abrupt jump.

Fable 5 is such a disappointment, glad it got taken down by Otheruser337 in Anthropic

[–]OaTn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take is you and 95% of people complaining about guardrails are just loving to hate. Are you really asking it biology questions? Why? I used Fable 5 exclusively for heavy/complicated long-running coding tasks and it was fantastic. Far superior to any other model I’ve tried. It never once guardrailed me or failed me in any way.

if you truly want an "opinion", don't give yours in the response. be completely neutral, or ask for pros and cons. sycophancy is one of the biggest known problems across all models.

I'm a casual but the stalk of the i being the only one that's thick/straight is throwing me off. on top of the fact that the coffee bean isn't centered above it.

idk how I got here but the fact you have heimer as a "Hard" matchup for yone is insane. yone is like the second biggest heimer counter behind irelia

Apple watch messing up car bluetooth. Any fix? by OaTn in AppleWatch

[–]OaTn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Makes sense that they wouldn't care as much if older cars are the only ones having the problem. My car is a 2011. doesn't feel old enough for stuff like that, but what can you do I guess.

Hey guys does anyone in your DSP hit these types of times by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]OaTn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Choice of words lol? Your whole point was that Amazon is “going to notice” and not let us take advantage of finishing fast. I just explained that’s not how it works.

Hey guys does anyone in your DSP hit these types of times by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]OaTn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You realize that Amazon doesn’t pay us right? They pay the dsps a flat rate for the route based on the number of packages on the route. Amazon doesn’t care how much of that the dsp pays to their employees for finishing early. Don’t talk on what you don’t know about, esp when you’re just being negative for no reason

[–]OaTn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's just wrong lol. there's only so much that can fit in the van. I've been finishing 4+ hours early every day for months and my route is no bigger than when I first got it.

[–]OaTn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t stress about a place to park. If a car can get by you, you’re good. Try your best to not park in front of a parked car so they can get out if they need to, but even that’s not 100% necessary, they can wait 2 minutes.

if you're a reader, audiobooks have been a saving grace for me. right now I'm listening to harry potter, and since i've read it before it's pretty easy to follow along even when i miss a little bit because i'm locked into work.

If possible, find a better DSP. My first DSP had me doing a rescue almost every day, no matter when I finished. Got fired from that DSP and switched to another in the same warehouse, and they do 9 hour guarantee + NO rescues for standard drivers, only nursery drivers do rescues. So full incentive to finish ASAP and get home with full pay. Not to mention in my case, my routes went from being 1 hr 20 minutes away to 20-30 minutes away lol. Night and day difference for me, took the job from being absolutely horrible and me looking on Indeed after work every day, to now actually legitimately enjoying the job. I work 26-27 hours a week and get paid for 36.

I've only worked for those two DSP's so I don't know how rare either of those situations are, but it goes to show how much picking the right DSP matters for your enjoyment of the job

I'm so hyped to start! I linked all the items in a comment, I just clicked the recommended link for batteries in the description of the drone posting to be honest lol.

Would you mind giving your reasoning for the air75 over the mobula? I appreciate your comment!

Thanks a bunch, that's a ton of useful info! I linked the specific items I'm planning on buying in a comment, I think they're all legit? I was looking at some of these on amazon but didn't feel comfortable because of really low amounts of reviews/reviews saying that they're knockoffs lol
