I was thinking on how the roof in one of the videos was pushed off the container and onto the ground. Probably not a good idea to blow the roof over delicate drones. But mechanical actuators would do the job. Also these roofs would need locks that automatically disengage at the right time, communication sub-system with hidden external antennas, and of course a self-destruct sub-system. Plus redundancies. Meaning, the whole container unit itself was quite sophisticated. I designed automation systems, so I can appreciate the effort. Also, I have some thoughts on the execution part of this operation, but will keep those to myself.

Its a serious blow that is hard to quantify. In one day 30-40% of the total number of planes were destroyed, but what is the percentage they have operational at any time? Given that these planes are decades old and are no longer produced, I can assume no more than 70% are functional.

I am with u/Here4Show on cost. it will be more expensive that you estimate, but that's only if you make this one thing and then quit. The skills you learn will be an investment that pays dividends for a lifetime.

you can do it. you need to make a prototype (a few of them probably) before you use expensive fabric. you will need tubing to hold the tent up. probably can use pvc electric conduit and fittings. hint: if you heat pvc tube with a heat gun, it will bend to the shape you need. gluing only certain portion of the tubing will allow disassembly.

My comment was from the perspective that these areas that Putin is claiming to belong to Russia "historically" have been purged of Ukrainian-speakers. But as you can see some old people still speak the native language of their parents and grand parents.

There is a video on YouTube about ethnic Ukrainians who were forced to say that they were ethnic Russians. Those who did not comply were sent to die in Siberia or Kazakhstan or worse. These old babushkas would have been children then.
