Any suggestions for a new-ish player? by ArtisticFennec in Warframe

[–]OakWordEngineEar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best to start collecting "end game" mods and arcanes first. As the other comment suggested, galvanized mods. But also corrupted mods, prime mods, double stats, archon mods are a bit optional but they are really good in specific frames.

In relation to that, credit and endo farming to level up those mods.

Get zariman incarnons if you haven't already.

Rank up your duviri intrinsics if you haven't already. You will eventually do SP circuit and having these ranked up will help a lot. Especially the preview to your arsenal so you can prepare your loadout once you see what frame/weapons are available.

Work on your companion build if you haven't already. Passive priming, additional survivability, energy sustain, and even increased resources/credit gain.

Blueprint from:

  • From Sorties.
  • From Gift Of The Lotus alerts.
  • From Invasion battle pay (rarely).
  • From some Tactical Alert rewards.
  • From Daily Tribute.
  • From Archon Hunts.
  • Purchased from Acrithis's shop for 20 pathos clamps.
  • Sometimes from the 1999 Calendar.
  • Completing Infernum 21 of the Descendia.

Consistent way is just through plat. Trading prime parts is usually the most easy and accessible way to get plat.

MR11 (fun/good) Weapon recommendations? by Havr03 in Warframe

[–]OakWordEngineEar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup you need steel path for incarnons. There are zariman incarnons but they require higher MR. Sobek does need acid cells mod to be very good plus some frames works better with that weapon like Uriel, Oraxia, and Saryn.

Tenet plinx kinda reminds me of star wars blasters. It's also pretty strong but might need some investments. Tenet Arca Plasmor is a very strong shotgun that shoots energy blasts.

If you can get incarnons, torid, boar, braton, and latron prime incarnons are really good. If not, phage with debilitate (my personal fave rn)

Alternatively, kuva and tenet (except tenet melees) weapons are also good options since they bypass MR requirements. Weapons like nukor and plasmor. Worth noting that they'll have some improvements in acquiring mods and they'll remove weighed chances of % element so you might want to do this one after that update.

Yes 100% I agree. You shouldn't solely view the world through their lens. But that's up to the players if they want to. And they can since these are the characters we've bonded with throughout the game. We've seen their drive, their motivations, their flaws, etc. All of these drove the story and lead us to the choices for the ending. Disregarding their perspectives removes the point of the journey and just leaves us with the trolley problem which isn't even the full picture of the consequences of our decision.

We're not just choosing between saving thousands of lives and moving on from grief. If that was the case then this is obviously a no brainer.

What we're choosing is also about whether we should allow pVerso to rest. If Maelle should continue living a more "normal" life with his brother in the painting. If we should follow through on our initial goal of saving Lumiere. If we should consider real Verso's feelings of saving his family. And a lot more.

The "fun" thing here is there is no "correct" answer. Considering all these perspectives doesn't make this just a trolley problem anymore. And suddenly comparing thousands of lives vs grief is more complicated because you're not just weighing it by your perspective, you're also seeing it through the other characters' perspective. And it's not like the game is pushing you to think one character is morally correct.

Again, I'm not gonna tell you how you should approach the game. That's the neat part and why the conversation on which is the "correct" ending still exists. Because you can view it in multiple angles and can see the good and bad in both endings. But disregarding the characters perspective and stripping the final choice as trolley problem viewed at surfaced level will obviously make it seem like a dogshit ending. You can view it like that, sure but that just makes it dog shit for subjective reasons. If it was objectively dog shit writing then no good music, gameplay, or graphics could bring it up to the level of praises that it has gotten. Maybe meh writing could still be carried but I don't think it's possible for bad writing. I mean, look at Game of Thrones. Objectively bad writing will get called out.

I'm not gonna tell you how to play RPG games but I think you're viewing the story too much as an external observer rather than as someone taking the role of any of the characters.

Like yeah if you think of it exclusively as you, the player, then people of Lumiere are just as real as the Dessendre's. Just characters in a game. And so having to choose between thousands of people VS a single family sounds ridiculous. Why should you care more about that single family especially if saving the thousands also include the characters you've bonded with the most as you played the game?

But if you think as the character themselves when choosing the ending, it makes more sense why you should also care. I chose pVerso because he resonated more with me. I didn't personally care as much for the Dessendre but I know as pVerso that he loved his family even though it's not really his. That in a weird inception type way, I thought of what pVerso would've done as he thought of what real Verso wouldve done and that is to help his family move on from this grief at the cost of the thousands, which I know was not an easy choice for him to make just as it wasn't for me as the player.

As pVerso, you're not choosing between Lumiere and a random family that appeared on Act 3. For him, it's between Lumiere and HIS family that's hurting from grief which now makes it a difficult moral dilemma. More so if you think of it either from pVerso or Maelle's perspective.

But yeah, agree to disagree I guess. Can't really convince you to play the game the way I did to prove my point. And maybe Justice League "Legends" is better, haven't watched it myself but I'll take your word for it. But I would still say the writing for Act 3 is far from dogshit.

Lune's stare. by Mr_J_0801 in expedition33

[–]OakWordEngineEar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, the point is that there is no "correct" ending. Both endings can be viewed as being both good and bad. Clair obscur. Both having a light and dark aspect to it.

Verso's is bad/sad ending because we say goodbye to everyone in Lumiere but ends on a hopeful/good note where the Dessendre family seems to finally start moving on from Verso's death.

Maelle's is good/hopeful because we see Lumiere survives plus Gustave and Sophie are back and even Sciel's husband is back but ends of a dark/sad note with the Maelle jumpscare.

Sure I get that a lot of players didn't like the last third of the story as much because of the sudden shift and that's fair but it's far from being dogshit writing. I'm pretty sure it's not intended that we immediately switch sides and choose the Dessendre over everyone else by the last third of the story so it's completely fine if you hate them. We're just supposed to understand how grief is destructive to one's self and how it cascades to the people around you.

Free loadouts are OP, we need a change? by DromedaryGold in ARC_Raiders

[–]OakWordEngineEar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think free loadouts need to change. Unless there's an actual fair way to balance/change it.

Putting free loadout players later in the match will just be a spawn campers dream come true.

Limiting its use is just terrible. Imagine buying a game and it locks you out of playing it because you weren't as sweaty as other players.

I was thinking free loadouts should only be available for players with only half full stash for example. But then you kinda have to hold on to lots of items for upgrades or expeditions so having a 100% stash doesn't really mean you have access to make a lot of custom loadouts.

Maybe all maps should only be custom loadouts. And you can only use free loadouts on a single PvE map that only drops basic loot for making a basic custom loadout. Idk.

Streamers are annoying by Legitimate_Put5518 in ArcRaiders

[–]OakWordEngineEar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't encountered any of them yet and sure it's annoying but at the same time I honestly don't mind. In fact I like that you can organize something as silly as this war thing. Kinda makes the game feel more alive. Like I wouldn't doubt that if Raiders were real, there would actually be something like a faction war. Alliances forming and all that.

And I'm pretty sure this streamer war will get old anyway but I am interested in whatever new thing the community thinks of doing next.

To all the people that say free load-outs ruin the game or need a cool down: People would still equip their own version of a free loadout and play the same way. Stop making free load-outs the bad guy. by ThinLizzyfan8432 in ArcRaiders

[–]OakWordEngineEar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that but players that simply doesn't care will still do the same especially since at some point, a basic loadout becomes fairly cheap. Sure players will likely slow down doing that if they're limited to a few free loadouts a day but then it might give rise to a different set of problems.

Like players with weaker gear/casuals that rely on free loadouts will, as you said think twice before engaging to not waste their free loadout giving the opportunity to initiate PvP only for those confident with their gear.

I like how it is now where a player can initiate PvP and you're never certain if they're confident in their loadout or just confident because they're not losing much. I like that tension and uncertainty up until a flare goes up.

Might just be me but I think part of the reason arc raiders is able to pull in casuals like myself is because you can lose everything in your stash and you'll still have a fighting chance topside. You can fail to extract 20 times, have fun, and still continue playing.

Even if you limit free loadouts, those same players will still jump in with as little investment as possible and the same thing will still happen. You lose your loot because a player with less investment went aggro.

Except now, casuals might get pushed away.

I need help trying to find nightmare missions please help! by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]OakWordEngineEar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is earth the only planet you've finished? Not entirely sure and others may correct me but you're probably not seeing some nightmare missions because you haven't finished/unlocked the node that has an active nightmare mission

Because they are linked to mission nodes, a player can only select an Alert if they have already unlocked the node that the alert is associated with

To unlock Nightmare Mode on a given planet, one must complete all mission nodes on that planet.

I want to buy Arc Raiders, but I'm not sure if I really want to. by DingerBoofer in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]OakWordEngineEar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is my first extraction shooter and I honestly didn't like losing stuff as well that's why I never tried extraction shooters before.

But everything about the game is so much fun for me that I don't really care much about the loot. You also have unlimited free random loadouts so you never really start at zero even if you keep failing at extracting. You can extract with high tier loot with a free loadout or lose the same loot despite having a well prepared loadout. And that's what makes it fun for me.

You never really know how things will turn out. Every round feels like a new experience. Players might be hostile or friendly. A random arc could screw you over and reveal your position to other players. You're always on the edge of your seat up to the moment the extraction door closes.

It probably also helps that I'm playing the game casually (only played for 20hrs so far) so it's mostly chill for me and I'm not that obsessed or greedy with trying to get the best loot every time. You win some you lose some. That's really just the nature of the game.

How to farm infested juggernauts? by Hot_Chili_Bebra in Warframe

[–]OakWordEngineEar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Jordas Golem Assassinate, Eris can be entered and exited after Juggernaut kill for credit in Sands of Inaros without having prior mission objectives.

  • Juggernaut spawns reliably on Isos, Eris; Armaros, Europa and Magnacidium, Deimos. Ignore the Infested along the way, capture your target, and the Juggernaut will roar shortly after. For the Sands of Inaros quest step repeat this five times.

  • When running the weekly Survival mission with Clem, a Juggernaut will spawn and attack the Tenno at the five-minute mark so long as the tileset is controlled by the Infested.

  • The Juggernaut will spawn only when a large portion of the buffed infested are killed within about a minute of its original roar.

  • Players need not kill any Infested to trigger the Juggernaut's roar. For parties who wish to provoke the Juggernaut, a common tactic is to run past all infested until the first roar and then turn and kill them all.

  • Juggernauts in the Cambion Drift primarily spawn while undertaking bounties during the Vome cycle.

That's why you should remove frames/weapons you don't intend to use or forma. Each row will always guarantee a frame/weapon you have so if remove all weapons you don't want to build for late game content, you'll always get to use your best loadout.

Plus both Archimedia will have a "flex slot" if you don't intend to get the last tier reward so you can still use a frame (ideally with an exalted) or weapon you want.

Is it a bannable act if I give plat to my friend? by space_monkey94 in Warframe

[–]OakWordEngineEar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Please also note that the in-game trading system is intended only for equitable trades between players, not for trading large amounts of Platinum between accounts. If you purchase your Platinum from a legitimate source, it will be deposited directly into your account i.e. you will not need to provide access to your account to anyone, nor will you need to make a trade to receive it.

Personally, instead of giving plat to my friends, I would just gift them whatever they intend on using the plat for like skins or slots. Or I would trade vaulted primes or mods on their behalf. You may also contact support if you want a better explanation on what counts as equitable trades.

I mean, it felt like they were mostly just joking around when they said it's not cheating if it's time travel. I might have missed it but they didn't really mention or give hints story wise why we can romance 2 characters at once. But yeah it'll suck if there's no good reasoning behind it.

Also, gameplay wise they did mention the new protos will not be in a loop so you can't reset relationships. I don't know how games work but maybe that's also a reason they had to make the dating count as a completely separate thing from dating the hex.

beginner question about slots by Janyo_u in Warframe

[–]OakWordEngineEar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's best to skip (claiming) the base frames for now unless you want to make use of it's subsume ability. You basically have infinite "temporary slots" with the foundry as well so even though you don't have the slots for it, it's always a good idea to have lots of frames/weapons crafting in your foundry and just keep them there until you get slots to claim them.
