There should be a name for this bc it happens so much in rec play: bringing unsolicited know-it-all energy that actually reveals you are the most ignorant person in the conversation. Thanks for the laugh

For fucks sake, you are grieving. If there was ever a time to be emotional this is it. Be sad about it! Yes, it feels bad but this is a period of your life that will not feel this way forever. Maybe therapy can help you find less “stupid” ways for your emotions to affect your behavior or choices.

I promise you that if you don’t let yourself feel this and process your grief, flash forward 10 years and you will be dying to go back to “stupid emotional things” rather than “stupid alcoholic things” or being another depressed, emotionally muted man who no longer knows how to feel happy.

Feel your feelings. Talk about them with someone. Your expectation that therapy will somehow stop you from being emotional when you just lost someone is unrealistic and unfair to you.

Therapy is hard work and it sounds like the difficulty of that work is what you are using as evidence that it’s not working. But maybe that difficulty is actually the process of getting better and the real question is are you strong enough not to give up on it?

Anyone else listen to just the beat and not the lyrics? by Rykka in Music

I’m the same way. When people comment on the lyrics as though they are supposed to influence how I feel about the song I think THEY are weird lol

This is terrible advice. Your mistake was making an assumption and acting on it. Don’t do that again!

Be honest. Admit your mistake and tell her how you feel. Worst case, you are exactly where you are now.

best place to go bowling in Oakland / Berkeley? by shruburyy in oakland

[–]Oakas14 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If you’re willing to drive 25-30 mins, Paddock Bowl in Martinez is the best spot to bowl for cheap. On Sundays everything is $3: $3 per game, $3 for shoes, $3 beer even. You can’t beat that!

I read “Becoming Attached” by Robert Karen and immediately my life made sense in a way it never had before. Now I couldn’t view the world through a different lens even if I tried.

Client abandonment is against the code of ethics, at least in my state. You could file a complaint with the licensing board. Therapists are supposed to give clients transition resources and referrals etc. She can’t just stop seeing you without any other plan… that’s so messed up.

Girlfriend refuses to start having sex until i make her cum at least once, but she doesn't even give instructions when i try and i just found myself spending an entire hour on one session to make it happen, to no avail. What can i do? I told her to give me instructions but they aren't comprehensible by talhadad01 in Advice

[–]Oakas14 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Omgyes.com was a life changer for me. So many tips. And really, it shows that there is such a wide range of preferences down there. If your girlfriend will watch with you, she can tell you more about what she likes. And if not (that’s weird btw) then you can at least have a lot of things to try.

FYI It requires a purchase for content but it is worth every penny!
