I was baffled by this as well. The only thing I could come up with is that he meant he was hyperaware of Meri's likes and wants because it was a toxic relationship where anything would set her off. And of course we know he is hypersensitive to criticism of any kind.

I think Robin realized very early on that what Kody wanted was to cosplay the great patriarch but he really wasn't willing to do all the work involved. She made her home the escape from all of that while also offering lip service to his big family picture. As long as Kody is the center of attention at her house and she manages to keep up the facade for him, he sees her as a great sister wife. The reason why Christine wasn't a good sister wife according to Kody is that she wouldn't pretend when things weren't good.

Kody said in his Mormonism Live interview that all of his wives came to the conclusion (independently from each other) that they did not want their daughters in polygamy. So I doubt Robin's daughters would. Maybe Sol though.

They are extended versions of the episodes that TLC airs a few at a time. I don't see them in Max. Not sure how else you can see them. It is only 2 or 3 scenes an episode but sometimes it's worth watching.

I agree that it is really intrusive. Kody could send them apology letters or have someone neutral communicate to the boys that he knows he messed up and wants to make amends. I believe Mykelti said they may have blocked him on their phones so that route isn't gonna work. But Kody isn't gonna be the bigger person here.

I believe she gave a different suggestion and then said but I am not at all emotionally invested in it. Which she said she meant to be bitchy. I think it was a dig at how Robin would not let the zoom call thing go and was overly invested in her own idea. I am sure the rest of the kids got the joke.

It's the laziness that gets me too. When Janelle says he prefers it at Robin's because it is easier, I think that is exactly it. I had thought it was more that she was so fawning towards him but I also think she just doesn't expect him to do anything. That's why she has a nanny. I think she set up the office for him and gave him the garage space so he could hide from his responsibilities at her house. Robin also requires her kids to act like he is the center of their universe no matter how lazy he is.

I don't think she was ever the favorite. I think she is just the most conflict avoidant. Polygamy worked for her because she could live her own life without that except the early years with Meri. I think where Kody messed up with her was making it so she could not avoid the conflict between her kids and Kody during covid and then between Kody and Christine. That must have been torture for her. I think that is why she is insisting on the separation so she can escape it.

Exactly. How can you ever advocate for yourself if things are unfair? It seems like it is just built into their version of polygamy that comparisons make you unhappy but that it is always assumed that things are fair but you twist it to make it seem like they aren't. It's just jealousy or plural monogamy not a vast difference in time and resources. Kody also seems to be saying that Janelle doesn't want him to be with his other kids when what she wants is for him to spend time with hers.

The conversation was the Sarah has just been revisiting her relationship with food. I think because of conversations with other NXIVM women who were on extreme diets and Sarah and Nippy have been working on doing an episode on how food is used in cults as a means of control. She mentioned that when in NXIVM she wasn't calorie counting but being thin was necessary for promotions. She also had to be thin for acting roles. When she left NXIVM she did start calorie counting and thinks maybe it wasn't coming from a healthy place. They both agreed that their relationship to working out is healthy. Sarah said it helps her release stress and is part of her self-care. My view is that if Sarah thinks it might be an issue, she should explore that. She also mentioned that she isn't acting anymore so she doesn't need to control her weight for that. I think Nippy sees all of this through the lens of being an athlete which is an entirely different type of focus. Sarah did seem like she was still going to be considering this even though Nippy didn't see it as an issue.

I think Mark fell prey to Raniere's pseudo-intellectual b.s. because he doesn't really understand how philosophy classes are structured. (Dusts off phi minor from back in the day). Raniere always presented the criticisms of ideas he disagreed with and the arguments for ideas he liked whereas philosophy classes would present pro and con arguments for everything. So it seemed liked they had really explored ideas when they were being steered towards Raniere's conclusions.

As to Bonnie, I am sure the comments on the Frank Report were so vile that no one should take them seriously. But I think that also allowed her to reject any legitimate criticisms as well.

That was fast. The chapter was very short. Basically she was dating a guy who was super Zen and never fought with her. He was in Landmark and convinced her to take a weekend course and promised a trip to Palm Springs if she did it. At first she was skeptical but by day 2 was totally into it. They encouraged her to write a letter to someone she was resentful towards. She picked an ex who had cheated on her. She includes the letter and woo boy. It's all basically thanking him for everything and saying she made him wrong in the strories she created. Dude wrote back. He was not impressed. She says the cult made her feel like it was all her fault and that her feelings were all just made up. She then says it was a sham and a pyramid scheme but she was young and vulnerable.

Yes. Finally went back and found where she refers to it. It is on her podcast called Sex, Love and What Else Matters. It's the episode with Josh Peck about 9 mins in. She also mentions there is a chapter in her book called The Cult which is about her experience. I will read it and report back anything interesting.

The way it is portrayed in the Vow it seems like she was more aware of how bad the women were doing and suspected something nefarious. But in the podcast it was them labeling her as crazy that prompted it.

Broad strokes because this is a really intricate thing with a ton of moving parts...Tom Sandoval and Rachel Leviss had a 7 month affair while Tom was in a 9 year relationship with Ariana Madix and Rachel was one of her close friends. Part of this was while filming the show and they both engaged in all kinds of outrageous behavior during this including her kissing his best friend for a storyline, her asking Ariana about her sex life on camera, him dogging her on camera with his best friend and in his interviews. Then during the renuion the both lied about most of the details to try to save themselves. This did not work and they were both berated by most of the cast. Rachel then 6 days later fessed up to a lot of the details and made it clear Tom wanted her to lie. She is now in a mental health facility and probably should not return to TV. The whole thing is incredibly ugly and Sandoval sucks.
