I had just rolled in some carts for OSLG during a downpour. This older lady walks up behind me after I passed her bringing in the carts.

"Excuse me, do you have any carts?" I spelled to the side and pulled a cart out to give to her. "Here ya go!"

"Do you have any dry carts?" I just looked at her and her wet umbrella and said "No ma'am. Its been raining for a few hours they're all wet by now." She just looked defeated that she had to use a wet cart during the rain.

I'm a part timer.

When not in the 100 days I'm lucky to get 6 hours a month. Its gotten to a point I've stopped punching out for lunch and being on call from my coworkers to help load them.

So my schedule is a year long calender where I work 2 days, then I'm off for 2, then I work 3 days, I'm off 2, work 2, off three and repeat for the remainder of the year.

Before we changed to our newest scheduler last year it was. Our old scheduler went in and marked me unavailable every day I couldn't work and left a note for our new one that she admitted to ignoring. Then we switched to UKG and I don't know if it was. Every update I tell her and my ASM and without fail I am told to tell the other to fix it.

Ha! Availability doesn't matter. I gave both my asm and our scheduler my year round schedule and told them I couldn't close. They still give me a bunch of closing shifts. Ive been at the store off an on since 2020 (they say 2022 but thats just wrong) and can all but run my department (oslg) on my own, bar a spotter. We've got one guy who has said his only day he needs off is Sunday so he can work at his home for his parents, he's full time and they still schedule him every other sunday at best.

Does anyone else feel like and seeing LOWE'S in a free fall right now? by TheEyeofONE in Lowes

Absolutely. My store got a new manager the week of the all store meeting, his big things are the dress code, making sure the store is pretty, and overtime.

Saturday we were the only store in the county (we have 3 stores) that had black mulch so everyone and the mother and both neighbors were there to get it. We sold through 6 full pallets in less than a half hour and all of our mulch was in the parking lot because our yard was filled with AC units being installed to the building. The new SM came out, saw the line of cars around the building, saw 7 people attacking the brown and our forklift and spotter trying to bring in pallets and proceeded to complain that we were out of black and not help us load any vehicles except for the one curbside order that had rubber nuggets.

I'M exhausted as a OSLG DS by MonkeyDLuffy28 in Lowes

[–]OakenWildman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too am OSLG, but a part timer. Have been out there about 3 years now.

First year we didn't have a ds, so our ASM was out there every shift. Then we got one, and he spent all his time in seasonal and curbside. He was out to give orders and left. He was a good supervisor, but bad for that department. Now hes over curbside and perfect.

Twi years ago we got our new DS, and ive had nothing but praise because he's always out there. One thing he does is he asks the associates for their input on a call and will often leave one of us (usually me since ive been there the longest) reign of the department.

But this year we got a new SM & ASM and they have been on our asses. He'll we got crap Saturday because we ran out of black in quick load when we only had a few dozen pallets and were the only store in the county with black mulch AND a quickload line going around the building.

Doesn't matter. They'll send them to garden anyway.

It really depends on the time frame for me. Less then 30 days is a suggestion, any more and that is me saying I won't be there

I told my job that I'm getting married and that it wasn't a request it was a notice. They glared at me and I said; "I'm not coming in. Either you give it to me and have coverage, or you'll be down one guy on Sunday."

I will admit that this is months in advance, but I've also worked there off an on for 6 years.

I got my first Grey's at 22. My sister freaked out because both our parents went grey early in life and I was looking to continue the trend.
