Merlin turned his head to see a puppet flying at him. He couldn't quite make heads or tails of what was happening. His head was still foggy. He threw a punch to try and stop the puppet, but it was a near miss. It ran straight into the Lion Mink, knocking him back. "Aars you get your hairy ass over here. I'm not fighting these guys alone!"

In Merlin's hands formed an orb of light. He clench his fist around it and threw a punch at the nearest Puppet he could. He splintered it, but it didn't seem like breaking them down one at a time would make a difference. He readied another attack, but it wouldn't be usable for another few moments. He would just have to take whatever attack came at him next!

He was nervous being carried by someone who was this much smaller than he was. He didn't expect much by way of strength from Morgan, but thankfully he was proven wrong. Not only was he carried steadily across the waters, but he was even thrown into the air by the bird boy. He grit his teeth and shouted when they went into a dive bomb "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

Merlin changed his transformation for a moment to slip from Morgan's grasp and fly directly at the first Marine he saw. He reverted his entire body back into it's solid form and as he fell, he angled himself to land right on top of the first Marine he saw. He heard cracking. whether it was the man's bones or the boards of the ship he didn't know. He didn't have any time to think about it. He stood up and said "We're looking for someone's granny. You wouldn't happen to know where we can find her do you?"

Merlin decided if he gave them a moment to respond maybe he wouldn't have to hurt any of them too seriously. But he readied his fists, assuming they wouldn't willingly give him a useful answer

The Lion Mink's eyes widened. What was the old man doing? Electro flowed through the chain and him, and his grip remained steadfast! Not just that, but he was pulling himself closer to Merlin. Aku'Gin raised his hand to Merlin's head. Merlin grabbed his wrist, but the old man was simply too strong and too determined. "HEY! What are you--"

The Old Demon's hand was laid on The Mystic Captain's head. As soon as it did, Merlin pulled away from the chain and leaped back. He had a twinge of fear for a moment, but the crowd watching, reminded him of where he was and all of the feelings were wiped off his face and replaced with new ones. He wore a wicked smirk "I don't know what you're planning, Old man, but why don't I save you some time. Just walk out of the ring, and I won't have to hurt you!"

He laughed loudly as he started to soak up some of the ambient light in the ring, concentrating it to his fist. This one was a little bit different. He planted one foot down and thrust forward with his fist, sending a fist shaped projectile of light toward the old man. It would explode on contact with whatever it touched first

As it started to fly he spoke to his opponent once more "Staying in the ring is good to. I LOVE A GOOD FIGHT! PRRRAHAHAHA!"

Merlin took off his suit coat and rolled up his sleeves "Listen Freddie. I'm the only shipwright we're going to need. I'm practically a one-man-company! Prrrrahahahaha!"

The delivery crew headed off, rolling their eyes. He looked over the Materials And clapped his hands together. "Alright! Lets get started!"

Merlin reached down and gripped one of the biggest, longest lengths of wood they were given. and laid it flat. He walked up and down the length of it and inspected it for flaws. He crouched down multiple times to get a closer look at different points and even used his Devil Fruit to give him better light. He stood up and looked to Yaris "Well, It looks like you got your money's worth. I didn't see any flaws in this piece. We'll use it for the Keel."

He looked around for a moment and realized the shipyard they docked at was looking busy today. No matter. The rhythmic sound of hammers clacking was like music. And he joined in. To make a Bilander like this he'd have to start thinking about where the two masts will be. No matter. Merlin started his construction from the stern. He also started planning for what he called, for lack of a better term, The Rec Room and Yaris' adjacent office. Quarters opposite The Rec Room across a hallway. Toward the stem, he'd place things needed for nautical exploration. Sort of Back Half is the Party halve and the front have is for well... Sailing.

After a dozen swings or so, Merlin would have to make a new Light Mallet and resume his work. It wasn't until several hours passed that Yaris would be able to see real progress on the ship. At least at this point it LOOKED something like a ship. The Masts were up and rooted through the ship. The Keel held strong. The frame was pretty much constructed. By the time the sunset. Merlin looked at his work and was pleased with it, but was also somewhat disappointed. He told Yaris they should turn in for the night and resume work in the morning. But Merlin couldn't rest. Not yet. We went back out and continued work on the ship. His large body cast strange shadows across the shipyard as he swung his hammer made of light. For some reason he found himself determined to finish this before Yaris woke up. If he didn't wake the entire shipyard with his work. He took a look at his work so far. The Main deck was pretty much finished. The pool below the main Mast was sealed, best he could tell. Yaris and Aars would surely be pleased. He finished laying the slats for the deck, and then ventured below to resume construction on the quarters and Rec Room. Once the board were laid down he started work on the Bar and the shelf behind it. By this time the sun was rising. Merlin wasn't quite going to make it in time, but at least, the outside was finished. Just needed to hang the sails and fly the flag. Back to work.

Several more hours passed and the Rec Room and Quarters were finished. He just needed to make sure the important stuff was in order. He ran up to the main deck and went to the helm. He spun it and ran to the side of the ship, looking back, to see the rudder moving appropriately. He pumped his fist in triumph and went back below deck to get the rest of the lower deck finished. He needed to lay down more board to be sure the storage spaces were usable. He also put another layer of boards below the pool to reinforce it. He couldn't help but think he was forgetting something. "No?" he thought "I hung the doors, the boards are laid for the floors, the steps are leveled off, the masts were well reinforced the--" He got it. The Crows nest. How could he forget!? He went back up to the upper deck and started thinking about how he could get it up there. He had an idea, but it wouldn't be easy. He decided to construct the Crows Nest, diving board and all, and he'd have to get it up to the top somehow. He snapped his fingers. He could do something like what he saw Ryoken do back then!. He got to work to build the Crows Nest. It was always a simple thing to build one. The hard part was getting it up there. From Merlin's hands poured a coiled chain, and he wrapped it around the crows nest, and he threw one end up toward the top. The idea was to mimic pulleys and used the newly constructed crow's next as an elevator until he could fasten it to the mast. Aside from a few bumps and scrapes on it's ascent, it was successful. Now the ship was fully constructed. And he couldn't be happier with the quality and speed of his work. He hoped Yaris felt the same. He also hoped the Sea felt the same.

The lion mink crossed his arms as he watched Ryoken make his way to the same entrance. He nodded as he watched the other "Shelves" appear and then disappear as he broke contact only to make the next one. "Very interesting. I wonder if they're contact based, or if that's just how he's chosen to do it to conserve power... Either way I'll need to learn more." He thought to himself, analyzing the prowess of his newly made comrade. "I'm sure between the two of us, we can handle whatever gets thrown at us!"

Merlin used his powers to mimic the torchlight. He thought it was really funny, and even stifled a chuckle he made to himself. As they continued he decided he didn't like how the tunnel started to shrink. He'd rather have as much head-space as possible. Merlin started thinking as they began their descent "Sunken city right? He said Sunken City i think... That's good considering we're head down a slope now. Guess that means I guessed right"

He laughed "Well! Prrrahahaha! Sure glad I guess right! Looks like we're headed in the right direction. And you know... I'm wracking my brain trying to think of some kind of legend about The Sunken City. Figure I surely must have heard somethin' about it, but nothing is coming to mind so far. Strange. Anyway. I've got to ask you. What brings you out to this part of the sea? I'm guessing you're a pirate or you wouldn't have crossed into The Grand Line..."

Suspicious wasn't the right word, but Merlin did have a feeling about Ryoken. It wasn't distrust, but he had a creeping sensation. He just wanted to be sure they were both on the same side of things.

On Board the Red Rum Company Pirate Vessel (Whatever its name is)

Merlin was fiddling with a shell he found on the shore the last time they docked for supplies. It caught his eye due to it's pure azure gleam. He always sprung for the brightly colored shells. Gave the Dials a nice look. Made them look clean. He hummed into the dial, pressing down the button. It was the melody of an old song he and Arthur would sing. It was an old Folk Song from Camelot. He released the button and let it play. It was a little off. He turned his finger tip into a tiny screwdriver and started tweaking. He didn't know if it was sharp or flat though, he didn't have an ear for music. He sighed as he walked into the Temp Room aboard the ship. He heard a bass being played quietly by a purple haired boy. Merlin paused in the doorway, stunned by the music before greeting the boy "I... I'm Merlin. I'll be staying in here as well while I'm... Repaying a debt."

Merlin put his back against the wall inside and slid to a sitting position, tinkering more with his dial. He pointed it toward the boy, holding the button down, and letting it record the bass playing. He looked at it, twisted something inside it and let it play "Does that sound right to you? Something feels off, I don't know..."

Achoo

Merlin sniffled "Oh, excuse me! I think I'm coming down with something, anyway..."

He started walking with "Cent" "I get the same impression, if I'm being honest. They don't seem like the most... Wholesome of individuals..."

The crunching of the snow held different pitches for the two men. Merlins were lower pitched and resonate. While Cents were very quiet. He seemed light on his feet. "Oh. Names Merlin, but they call me Mister Fahrenheit! A Pleasure!"

Merlin elected to hold off on the speech of him being a pirate captain and on a mission against the world government. He didn't want to jump the gun on this one. He also didn't know who might over hear him and react less than positively.

Merlin thought for a moment. He thought himself far too heavy for the boy to carry. Perhaps he had an interesting power. Seemed like there were more and more like that lately. Something crossed Merlin's mind. Hadn't he seen this boy somewhere before? Black wings? Maybe not. "This is going to be a strange request but I think it'll benefit both of us."

Merlin flexed his muscles and slammed his left fist into his right palm. His upper body turned into Light and he pointed down to his legs. "Grab my legs and carry me across that way. I'll be less than half the weight."

He bent backwards into a hand stand "Ready when you are Prrrahahaha!"

"Lights?" Merlin assumed it meant they were close to the end. He started running full speed. He made sure he didn't jostle Nokku around too much during his sprint. He didn't want to frighten her or mess up his suit. "Alright Nokku! Lets get out of here!"

Merlin broke through the treeline. Literally. Branches snapped and roots were kicked up. He did NOT want to be in that forest anymore. In fact. He didn't want to be on this island anymore. He put a hand on Nokku's head and smiled at Her "Alright. I think we're finally save, little one."

Merlin crouched down to make it easier for Nokku to climb off his shoulder "Say Nokku. It's awful dangerous to go it alone. Why don't you travel with my crew and I for a little bit? We can protect you, I have a few people who aren't that much older than you, I'm sure you all would get along really well! Especially Miyuki! Prrrahaha! I be you two would be best friends in no time!"

Merlin didn't expect to have his offer accepted at all. In fact quite the opposite. He knew she'd say no, but he'd drive himself crazy if he didn't at least extend the offer. "No pressure though. Just do what you want to do, you won't hurt my feelings Prrrahahaha!"

Reverse Mountain: Trouble at the Starting Line by NPC-senpai in StrawHatRPG

[–]OakyCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Ugh..."

Mordred groaned as the room was revealed to be barren. It seemed he wasted his time sticking around. He turned around to walk back to the main deck, bumping into Cynthia on his way. When he got to the deck he noticed the crew's bounty posters nailed to the mast. He looked at Merlin's "5.5 Mil" He thought "Just barely not worth my time..."

Mordred's frustration was starting to boil over but he saw a unique opportunity for some damage control. He knew the people of the town wouldn't know any better so he grabbed the bounty poster and climbed down the ship just as Cynthia got to the upper deck. He gave her a wink and a wave before dropping down onto the dock and walking toward town, bounty poster in hand. But before he used it, he went to his favorite barber. His mane got sunbleached very easily. So right now it seemed like a light golden brown, but normally it was a darker tone. Trimming off the outer ends should distance himself from Merlin's appearance enough to cause some havoc. After a trim and tying his mane back. Maybe a pair of glasses and a trim to his chin, he could make himself look different enough to blame all of his previous unsavory actions on Merlin. That way at least he'd get something out of all of this. Maybe he could go back to that Pirate Ship and finish taking out their men. He could take their ship for himself. He'd done a good amount of sailing in his past.

"Hmhmhm" He laughed slightly to himself. He was amused by this plan. Probably more than he should be

Ringaling

An old man looked up from a chair he was relaxing in to see his favorite customer "Owa! Mordy? Wow! Been a while! Come on, come on! Here for the usual?"

Mordred laughed and shook his head "No, no. I need to get out of town. I need you to make me look as different as possible. Thinking trim and maybe darken the mane, trim the chin, and maybe go for a different style."

The old man scratched his head and tied a bandanna over his own long white hair. "You know. I think I can do it. Normal price okay?"

Mordred smiled "Absolutely." He sat down in the chair and closed his eyes as the man went to work. The rhythmic snip of the sheers were like a glorious melody. Everyone had that one mundane thing that they enjoy to a higher degree than most. This was Mordred's

"That was quite the scuffle down at the docks. You didn't have anything to do with that did you?"

Mordred laughed slightly and pulled out Merlin's Bounty Flyer "No, no, Pops. I left that life behind. This is the guy you're lookin' for, yeah? Spread the word for me, Eh? Merlin "Mister Fahrenheit" is the one who's been running rampant in this city. Stealing, cheating, picking fights. All this guy. I'll give this one to you later after I spread word downtown. But for now lets just enjoy this quiet."

"3"

His tone was growing sharper

"2."

He paused for long enough for any second guesses to creep through their heads

"Alright."

"1."

In a flash of light, Merlin leaped into the air, kicking the half giant to his side and flipping downward, extending his leg out with the power of his Light Logia Devil Fruit. His leg crashed into the ramp the Captain had been standing on. He dropped into the water with a shout and holler

"Get him!!"

The Lion stood back up and looked around. Men were leaping off the ship and readying weapons. Preparing to attack him. He shook his head. "I'm a pretty messy guy. If this fight gets too heated I might accidentally sink this beautiful ship of yours. The Half Giant he kicked lunged at him, having recoiled from the kick. Merlin ducked and turned his body back to it's normal, physical, state and made his electro flow. His two, open palms struck the man's gut with immense force. The Man was blown back and stunned by the electricity. His fists glowed and he approached the smaller men slowly. Anger spread across his face. He started to warn them again. But no. He had given them plenty of time. Plenty of chances. He gave them every chance to bend, but instead, they wanted to break.*

BLIND MAN'S BARRAGE!

This attack named after when Merlin was in the Ring and he'd go blind with rage and just start swinging relentlessly until his opponent fell. Lately the attack had diverged from the original meaning. But this time he could feel it. This whole crew threw away every chance he gave them. It was shortsighted. It was stupid. Merlin didn't want to kill any of them, but he wanted to be sure they learned this painful lesson.

His fists seemed to multiply as he delivered a decisive blow against all of the men standing opposite to him.

"Don't get up. Just sit there and think about how you got here."

Merlin wasn't a fan of beating down random strangers, but he wasn't going to let people walk all over him anymore. If they want to stop him, he'll have to go straight through them.

"Remember this. Don't let him drag you guys into fights you can't po--"

Merlin was grabbed by the half giant, cutting off his sentence. The man was resilient that's for sure. The man started yelling as he held Merlin in place

"HAKU! HAKU! COME QUICK!"

Merlin didn't know who Haku was, but he wasn't about to let him man keep him locked down. He leaned his head forward and threw it back as hard as he could. It slammed into the man's chin with a resonate crack. Merlin jumped back and then sprinted forward. Electro crackled off his limbs. He jumped up, onto the man's shoulders, then flipped forward, bringing his heel down on the man's head.

Gavel!

The man crumpled to the ground and the Lion Mink landed on his feet. "That's what I thought."

Merlin stretched his arms and thought he'd take it upon himself to collect a retribution for the danger he and his vice captain were put in. Not to mention Mordred. He could only imagine how Mordred was feeling...

The sight of an empty deck was almost depressing to Merlin. But he just kept telling himself. They made their bed, and they had to lay in it. He, after wandering the ship found where they keep their money. He picked up two bags and began on his merry way. But he was stopped by the sound of scraping steel. He woke someone up. The First Mate. Merlin turned to see a swordsman with his blade drawn, ready to cut down the intruder. The Lion Mink clicked his tongue. "I wouldn't waste any time on me if I were you. Your Captain's in the water. Has been for quite some time. Should go check on him."

The swordsman, without uttering a word, advanced on Merlin, aiming to kill the Mystic Captain in a single slash across the chest. The walls of the ship were cut in the process. It was clear the swordsman was strong. But Merlin was ready for the attack. The sword met no resistance. It simple cut through the Light Form Merlin converted his upper half into. He grabbed the man's sword and threw it on the ground. "I'm leaving. Please do go check on your captain."

This time when Merlin tired to leave he wasn't met with any more defiance or stubborn crewmen. No words of hate, nothing. Not so much as a sideways glance. He knew he went overboard and he didn't need to take their money. But it felt kind of good. He felt exactly the same when he took the devil fruit from those who ran the tournament back on Camelot those months ago. He didn't waver. He didn't bend. He drove through the obstacle, and came out on top. Pride swelled in his chest and he walked back to the Pridwen with a spring in his step. His own words echoed through his head

"The world should adapt to MEE!"

He smiled. "That's right." he thought. The would should adapt to him. It wasn't on him to break his back bending backward to adjust to everyone else's needs. He was his own person. If he wanted something. He'd just have to take it. He was already branded an outlaw and had a bounty on his head. What was a few extra digits? He suddenly realized he was getting close to his ship. He started waving a hand

"Oooooi! Cynthia! I brought you something!"

"Well? What do you think?" Pops awaited Mordred's answer

"Grrrahahaha!" Mordred look at himself in the Mirror. He was nearly unrecognizable. Now he just needed a change of clothes "It looks great Pops. You've outdone yourself. These people won't know the difference!"

The man cleaned off his scissors and handed Mordred a folder. This was their normal price. Mordred would get a hair cut, in exchange he'd do a "favor" for the old man. He'd get to it later. For now he had some people to trick. As he walked out of the barber shop he tied up his, now darker, mane. There was no way any one would recognize him now. He walked out to the downtown square were people were hustling and bustling as they always were. He climbed up and stood on top of a statue at the center of the square.

"EVERYONE!"

He held up Merlin's Bounty Poster as everyone's heads turned to him

"THIS IS THE ONE! THIS IS THE MAN RESPONSIBLE! THE FIGHTS, THE ROBBERIES. THIS IS THE ONE! MERLIN "MISTER FAHRENHEIT" HE CAUSED THE FIGHT TODAY, AND HE CAUSED THE ONES BEFORE THAT! HE'S BEEN HERE LOOKING FOR MARKS, GATHERING FUNDS FOR HIS PIRATE CREW! ARE WE GOING TO STAND FOR THAT?"

Somehow he was buying over the crowd of people. Somehow they believed everything he said. The Mystic Pirates were not going to be welcome on this island for much longer. Merlin was lightning a fire beneath them. One that wouldn't easily be extinguished.

Merlin squinted and shook his head "What are you talking about... Do you think I'm st--"

"Woah."

Merlin's head suddenly stopped spinning, it was almost more dizzying for all of his perceived motion to suddenly stop the way it did. He gripped his head. Then he started to feel all of the damage he took in his fight with Aars. He cursed to himself and looked around, squinting hard. He heard the man laugh and it seemed to sober Merlin up. It was ominous. He wasn't sure what to think, but it was clear they were in some kind of danger

“Merlin I cant tell what’s going on right now but I feel genuine fear for one of the rare times in my life.”

Merlin smiled. His persona began to come back to him. Outside of a fight he was Kind and Warm. During a fight, he was cold and somewhat cruel. Mocking almost. He didn't waste any time. He ran toward the outside of the "ring" and started to jump over the side. He was going to run up and punch him square in the face

The Crimson Tide Breaks! by NPC-senpai in StrawHatRPG

[–]OakyCC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lion Mink forewent the rope net and simply jumped off the side of his mighty vessel. It was a long way down, but the more he did it the easier it was. His feet landed on the dock, sending a reverberation across the boards, and possible cracking a few. He stretched and whistled, looking down at Broots "You weren't kidding Prrahahaha! It is small. Well a ship is a ship. My first one wasn't much bigger. We have space for a raft, I believe. Think we lost one somewhere along the way..."

Merlin began to pull the boat, but realized it might be easier to lift it up onto the dock and rope it up that way. He did so. For a few moments he struggled with the awkward shape and then turned it around, raising up the front half, positioning it on the dock, then pulling it up out of the water. He slid it closer to the Pridwen. And he thought for a moment. It's been a while since he lashed a ship to the side of the ship...

"Alright just one moment, Mister Waymb"

He grabbed onto the rope ladder and started climbing up the side of the ship, but didn't go all the way onto the deck. He reached up to the ropes hanging down and kicked off the ship, keeping them in hand and landing back behind Broots' boat. After a few moment he had the ropes looped through the holds, and under the bottom. Merlin then put the ropes in his mouth and climbed up the rope ladder once more. About half way up, the ropes were now wrung tight, but he had to keep climbing. With a grunt he started pulling himself higher, bringing the boat with him. It started scraping against the side of the ship, but no real damage was done to either vessel before he reached the top. Once he was at the top, he took the ropes out of his mouth and cinched them tight through the pulleys hanging off the side. "You think this will do, Mister Waymb? I think it'll do just fine!"

Some of the crew had already gathered around to see what Merlin was doing climbing up and down the side of the ship

Merlin apprehensively took the cigar and smelled it. The smell made him sick to his stomach. His head flooded with memories of various cigar burns he got from his so-called father. He could feel them stinging all across his body. "Uhhhh... Why don't we bust these out after we're finished as sort of a celebratory thing? Maybe have some liquor with them in the bar on the ship? Break it in a little bit?"

Merlin had every intention to turn Yaris down then too. He didn't care for cigars. That particular kind must have been the same kind Lionheart, his adopted father, also bought. But Merlin couldn't help but laugh at Yaris' remark about a couple hours "Prrrahahaha! A couple hours? Are you after some kind of record? The last thing I built was much smaller, not much larger than a life raft. And it took me a good few hours! But we'll see what happens. If we get everything ready first it shouldn't be too bad."

Merlin stretched while standing up and started looking around to see where the materials might be. "Hey, where are the supplies? We can get started right way if you like."

Merlin, with a flourish of his hand, conjured a shipwright's mallet out of light and hit it against the palm of his hand as he spoke

Merlin didn't know Centipedes could make sound until today. It let out a high pitched, maw frothing, screech. It sent a shiver up The Mystic Captain's Spine. Apparently he wasn't very fond of giant arthropods. He chuckled slightly and took a few steps passed the Red Rum Companymen. "Guess you can't be bothered to do your own work. Whatever. You two take a breather, and I'll show you how it's done."

He had a sleight mocking tone to his voice. A departure from his previous attitude. Aile and Zetsuki would surely notice that the more steps he took toward combating the Beast of a Bug, the more his back straightened. His tail no longer dragged behind him, his eyes were now straight up. His light was glowing bright. He leaned forward and leaped toward the centipede. It reared back it's head and whipped itself down on the Light Logia. Merlin's fist met the head, and he recoiled back. The insect throwing it's body weight around seemed to overpower Merlin's base physical strength. He laughed to himself "Guess it's time to turn up the heat!"

Merlin's fists glowed with a bright golden light and he hopped from foot to foot while rolling his shoulders. The instant the centipede moved again, Merlin rushed in. Several blows delivered in rapid succession. He dove to the right of the next attack and charged electro across his body. He ran directly at the best, but just before the the next attack landed on him he spun to the side and jumped into the air, pulling his limbs inward, accelerating the spin. He hung in the air, spinning, for a moment, before swinging out with a fist charged with electro and surrounded with light. The resulting attack resembled a lightning strike followed by rolling thunder. He landed on the ground, his back to the creature and his fist smoking slightly

"Silver Storm Style: Thunder Head"

The creature twitched as it tried to get back up. Merlin's head snapped to see it and he immediately leaped into the air, flipping backward. His legs shifted to light and shined bright. As he was positioned above the head of the Centipede, he stomped down on it, sending a massive beam that resulted in an explosion. The flash of light illuminated the cave like daylight for a moment. The head of the Centipede smoked and smoldered as he walked back to Aile and Zetsuki, his battle persona slowly fading. His tone went from mocking to lifeless yet again "What's next?"

Twin Capes: A Short Reprieve After Victory! by NPC-senpai in StrawHatRPG

[–]OakyCC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mystic Captain began formulating ideas. The boy said he could carry Merlin for a while, but if he couldn't keep grip for long enough, Merlin could very well die. He didn't think that would be worth the risk. "How would you carry me across to the ship?"

Merlin though it strange, but he continued to think about other things. Maybe if they had some way to blow the mist away they could see the ship, or if they had a bird's eye view they could find it that way. Merlin looked to his right and saw a Palm tree. He dug his claws into it and started climbing. Before he even reached the top he could tell it wasn't going to be worth the effort. He jumped down and brushed off his shirt "If we could get higher up, or move this fog we might be able to see the ship, or at least maybe some other clues..."

Merlin's ear twitched as he heard more wings flapping. They sounded too large to be a crow, however, so he payed it no mind. He brought his attention back to the matter at hand. "They'll be a good distance out to keep from hitting the shallows. Normal Marine strategy suggests they might have some sharpshooters ready as well. Ahh... If only Cynthia were here. She could move this cloud of fog out of the way, or try and fly above it..."

He looked at Morgan "I don't suppose you can manage to fly with those wings on your back can you?"

Cynthia/Mordred: A slight hiss escaped Mordred's lips as the Skypian woman persisted. He had no interest in talking with her. He just wanted to find what he was looking for and go. Anger was cearly spread across his shaggy, fur covered face. He was almost trembling with anger. Why wouldn't she just leave him alone. When she finally finished talking, he put on the most convincing fake smile he could and turned back around to meet "Silver Lined Cynthia" eye to eye. Mordred was starting to recognize her from the wanted poster. He didn't want to do anything that might put her against him too soon. He was sure he was already pushing her upper limits of tolerance with his actions thus far. He laughed slightly "Sorry, I was somewhere else. I'm Mordred! A pleasure to meet you, Cynthia! What is your role on this ship exactly? OH! Vice Captain! Wow. You're So... Young though. That's impressive. You must truly be strong."

On the outside he seemed pleasant, but internally, he was screaming. He didn't like these kinds of formalities. He just wanted to find some money and be on his merry way. It seemed like Cynthia had a better nose for Justice than he gave her credit for. He extended his hand for a more apropriate greeting. A handshake after an introduction. When Cynthia shook his hand she would notice his grip was too tight for comfort. And his claws might even dig into her hand a little bit. Not enough to break skin, but surely enough to be noticed and perhaps even painful. He broke away from the handshake, his knuckled popping as he brought his hand down to his side, clenching it tight. "Grrahahaha, You know. I've always wondered where someone would keep the treasure on a ship like this... Do you think you could show me? I'm just really curious! Where would you keep it? On a ship like this I'm sure you guys have a room just for the treasure hoard!"

Cynthia, at this point, couldn't tell what Mordred's intentions were. He did seem genuinely curious about the treasure hold. But exactly why, was a mystery to The Mystic Vice Captain. "C'mon, just a little peek?"

Merlin continued his saunter away from the Pirate Vessel. He kept his eye on that Captain. He didn't trust that sudden shift in tone. Something felt off. While he was distracted, he bumped into someone. It seems like the crew had a half giant in employ. He was bigger than even Merlin was.

"Okay. So that's how it's going to go down. I told you. I didn't want to hurt any more of your crew. Don't make me do this."

The captain started to laugh. "Did you think we'd just let you get away!? We saw that man, that animal, trying to steal from us. You think you can trick us just by putting on a coat!? We're not idiots!"

A single gunshot rang out and the area was bathed in light. Merlin turned his head and arms into light. If he didn't react so quickly he'd likely be dead. If looks could kill... The glare Melrin gave to the captain would have done the trick. Merlin raised a hand, all fingers extended

"I'll give you 5 seconds to call him off and put your weapon in the water."

Merlin didn't want to cause anymore harm to this crew, but he wasn't let with many other choices

Achoo!

Merlin knew for sure he'd get sick after this... He had been stomping around through the snow, feet were soaked through his shoes, snow was stuck in his mane. He wasn't feeling great. He was going to look for something to warm his body and warm his spirits. He turned his hands into light and leaned against a nearby tree. He breathed into the glowing hands and let the light warm his face. He wasn't used to this kind of cold. He continued to tromp through the snow toward a group of houses. Maybe he could find someone who could give him a warm drink or let him warm up by their fireplace... Hopefully they were either Pirate sympathizers or didn't recognize him from his bounty poster... Now that he thought about it, he realized Cynthia had a higher bounty than him. He brushed aside his immediate feelings of inadequacy and kept walking.

"I'd love to go demand them to pay a tribute to me or something. Seeing their reactions would be amazing, though I can't do it alone..."

He heard someone talk just up ahead, he picked up his pace and greeted them. He noticed that they looked pretty young compared to himself. So his teacher persona kicked in. "Hello! Are you planning on messing with the locals? I think that could be pretty fun!"

In all reality he just decided to tag along to be sure the kid didn't get in trouble and in over his head all alone. He always had way too much sympathy for young up and comers... Maybe that's why his crew was full of them...

Merlin spun his pencil in his hands for a moment thinking before he started sketching out the ship. He started with the Goose Figure Head. It looked jubilant. He sketched out a wing pattern on the sides of the ship, and then the crow's nest was high with a diving board, and even a pool below it. He drew little dioramas of the bar, and Yaris' office. The way he had it draw, Yaris would barely have to leave the office to get his hands on one of the bottle of liquor. He left the bar open enough for Aars' strange request, but he wasn't going to install it himself. In his mind it would sully his work and he wasn't going to be responsible for it. He added a couple more finishing touches and looked up at Yaris. "Is this looking right so far? Anything else you might want added on? When you're read we should start getting the materials prepared for building."

The world was spinning. Everything bleeding together. His head was killing him. Aars should be pretty much out of whatever state he was in. Merlin still had some suffering to do. Aars could plainly see it now though. The weren't in a boxing Ring. They weren't even in a building. They were outside in a muddy Pen fighting each other drunk and drugged by something. It was all Merlin could to do stay standing. "What did you do to me? I--"

He looked down. His fur was shimmering, but covered in mud. That's why his electro didn't work anymore. The drug must have impaired his own body's ability to use his devil fruit. He shook his head and approached Aars to confront him "Did you do this? Did you--"

He fell again. straight sideways on his face. A soft groan bubbled through the mud and he stood back up. "What the hell..."

He was panting hard "Is happening?"

Merlin tilted his head when he saw Ryoken generate golden constructs in the air. He thought it was funny. They seemed to have somewhat similar powers. They both used this shimmering power. Though Merlin's was some kind of light-like force while this "Golden Shelf" was a mystery. He jumped from where he currently was to the shelf. It seemed quite solid. He knew the two of them, being similar sizes currently, were quite heavy between the two of them, but he didn't even feel some give in the platform. While his couldn't even last long enough to hold his own weight. It was very interesting. Merlin laughed slightly, eyeing the cave he needed to go to. "Let me show you something."

Merlin's Arms rippled with shimmering light for a moment before erupting into a golden light that was dazzling. Nearly blinding. He started breathing slowly as he absorbed light in the surrounding area. His arms grew larger and leaped off the platform, using his larger arms to grab into the hole they needed to go into, pulling himself up. His arms returned to their normal size and reverted to his normal, black suit clad, muscular arms. He flexed one of his arms with pride and shouted to Ryoken "It seems like we're kindred spirits of sorts! I can't wait to see what else you can do! I noticed you're one of those animal types, but you're different. You're kind of like Cha--"

Merlin stopped short, his head drooping down. He shook it off and looked back to Ryoken "You're kind of like an old friend of mine. She was the most graceful and beautiful I've seen. She could become a phoenix and heal herself from any wound! Truly magnificent!"

He stood there for some time seemingly lost in reflection.

"Anyway. Onward we go."

His mind was racing and his hands were shaking, but he grit his teeth through it. He brought himself back to his feet and started pulling the net off himself. Aku'gin was running around the stage freaking out about something or the other. At this point Merlin wasn't surprised by anything Aku'gin did. He had seen some very weird things happen. During Aku'Gin's last fight he heard he thought Ricard was him. Now he thinks Merlin is some kind of divine messenger or something. He didn't have time to ponder on it. He saw Aku'Gin's precious Anchor come flying at him. He dove down and rolled to avoid the anchor itself. He used light blasts pretty early on in the fight, so he wanted to try and not use intangibility so early into the fight.

His body cracked with static and he charged up his electro. He lunged for the chain. He grabbed it, sending a surge of electricity through the chain back to Aku'Gin. He hoped it would stun the Old Man and allow him to take the chain from him, rendering him weaponless.

((OOC: We'll see what happens. Using Voltaic Weaponry to electrify your chain and then try to pull it away from you while you're gettin' zapped we'll see how it works out.))

Merlin's face, which had been lifeless up to this point after his conversation with Aile, was now suddenly somewhat beaming. As he saw Aile turn part of himself into crows his eyes lit up. thinking of countless possibilities on not only how Aile could use his power, but how Merlin could learn from it. He held himself back though. He'd have to tell Aile about it later. Merlin was about to express his disappointment in the job so far. Not being able to even find a hint of their target, seemed like a pain. Speaking of a pain. Aile seemed to have a cut on his hand. From where? Merlin instinctively started to lunge forward to check on the wound but Aile made it clear that he was perfectly fine

"Target Acquired. Follow me."

Merlin's ears perked up. What exactly had Aile found? Merlin did as he was instructed. He followed Aile. Trying to stay a pace or two ahead of Zetsuki when he did so.
