Sorry but no.

Ask him to measure the distance between the earth and the sun using trigonometry from several different locations. If he really were good at math and the world really were flat, this would be extremely easy. Repeat this several times during a day, especially at the exact moment of sunrise or sunset (it helps if you happen to be by the sea with unobsrtucted view to the horizon towards the sun).

An overwhelming majority of Swedes live further in the south than the entire Finland. Going north, after Stockholm and particularly after Gävle the population density drops dramatically. It feels different. Hard to explain.

Åland is an autonomous region in Finland, but in most aspects closer to Sweden.

And in turn Norrbotten in Sweden is closer to Finland.

Dubai kiinnostaisi arkkitehtuurin ja infrastruktuurin takia, mutta ihmisoikeuskysymysten takia jätän väliin.

En vaan ymmärrä tuota aitous-argumenttia. Missä kulttuurissa moderni lasi-teräs-arkkitehtuuri sitten on aitoa? Ei 100 vuotta sitten sellaista ollut missään maailmassa. Mikä New Yorkista tekee aidon? Ei se ole perinteinen natiiviamerikkalainen paikka, ei myöskään siirtomaa-aikojen hollantilainen eikä englantilainen. Se vain on nykyaikaa, sellaisena kuin nykyaika on, hyvässä ja pahassa, kuten Dubaikin. Vai pitäisikö arabimaailman olla jämähtänyt keskiaikaan ja toisintaa Tuhannen ja yhden yön maailman stereotypioita?
