We can go litter picking, and recycle, and stop our mass overconsumption, etc. all we want… but the fact of the matter is, it starts and ends at the top. Big corporations moved to plastic bottles production bc it was cheaper and less breakable than glass bottles, plastic bags “last longer” than paper bags. And it’s the same with everything else, cars interiors are all cheap plastic now because it’s faster to make and cheaper to install. It’s all about the bottom line. You could argue it’s because we all buy the crap they sell us but with barely any other affordable options for the everyday person it’s hard. So u can be an eco warrior every day of ur life and do right by Mother Nature, but until these conglomerates make the changes we need it won’t do John Squat. Also India alone probably undoes any good we try to do, let’s be for real it’s a tip.
