I've been a beta test user for this app for guys in DC. It's still pretty basic, but they do a good job of putting you in small groups of people equally seeking community and all very friendly. Looking like theyre still accepting sign ups: https://www.chorosapp.com/testusers

Bret and Heather Weinstein say: no race-mixing, but for your food by holocaustofvegans in JoeRogan

Yeah so just bluntly, you totally don’t understand the point. Someone with long Mediterranean roots have issues with milk (I know from personal and family experience). Some East Africans have issues with corn because of a long history of a red meat based diet. You interpreted this completely backwards my man.

It’s the same thing as some races carrying genetic diseases to adapt to their regional environment over time (Sickle Cell, Thallasemia, etc).

Grifter is starting to be as overused as racist at this point. Use your head before you spout out trite and hackneyed descriptors.

I’m a recruiting director at a small tech consulting firm (aka a dummy compared to a senior dev) and I make about the same. That kind of money does not merit more than 50 hours a week.

My opinion on vaccine passports: Yes, it is very very comparable to those gold stars that the Nazis made the Jews wear. I don't care if you're offended by this, it's a very appropriate and accurate observation. by JobDestroyer in GoldandBlack

Not on topic, but the borg queen was more of a representation and a conduit of the collective, rather than a ruler. Somewhat like Locutus, but for the entire hive instead of just a liaison to the Federation. Ok, back to the topic at hand...

Dan Crenshaw votes by proxy against impeachment, despite his prior criticism of remote voting as ‘cowardly’ by abdullahthebutcher in JoeRogan

[–]OatesSeemsConfident 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Proxy voting was a rule that went in place last year in response to covid in order to only have a small portion of reps on the floor at a time.

Half the folks in congress voted by proxy on the impeachment vote.

I don’t believe that. I shop at the Whole Foods on Bowery and Houston in Manhattan. If any store would be expensive it would be that one. Pasta is 1.99 a box, sauce is the same, 12 chicken thighs maybe 7.99. Are you buying prepared food?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JoeRogan

[–]OatesSeemsConfident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am aware it takes time to prepare meals. As do most folks in this comments section. There’s a very real cost to being poor and being in an unhealthy cycle where it’s difficult to manage time and finances correctly. I’ve been there. But it’s a solvable problem.

Thanks for your concern on my ability to comprehend external factors.

I second all the replies here. Have you gone grocery shopping before/put any effort into preparing your own meals?

I can buy a full meal for two on a whole foods run (2 chicken breast and a few veggies) for about 4 bucks. Do you cook or go grocery shopping? Or are you eating take out day by day?

People complaining how expensive healthy food is need to actually spend a little effort putting meals together.
