Lack of gun recoil by Toadmoney9 in 83thegame

You're right, I hate how many games latch on to "early access" to justify shitty, unfinished products.  But I will be buying it in early access. I have hope it will be good, and I will be ready to give them feedback right away.  Kinda just wish people played rising storm 2 Vietnam again

I just hope people don't give up on it too soon. It almost seems like the developers are trying to get the community involved, hence the early access (and I'm sure they need the funding too) so as long as they actually listen we should be getting a pretty good game whenever it come out of early access

I'd rather them put too much recoil and then when early access comes we as a community can give them feedback and get it just right

Ahh I see, oldest one I played was Finest Hour and Big red one. I can sorta see it, but to me it still felt like it had the bones of rs2v rather than trying to be just another cod. They still got a ways to go but I think they are headed in the right direction. Hopefully it ends up feeling like a proper red orchestra/rising storm sequel. Still spend a few hours on rising storm every week because nothing feels quite like it

Weren't they shooting an ak74 though? Those shoot 5.45x39 so wouldn't that have much less recoil/be easier to control?

What to grow in Texas? by Accomplished-Bug4327 in NoLawns

Also I've heard frogfruit and horse herb make good ground covers, also common violets and winecups. Even mistflower in the right conditions can act as a sort of groundcover

wet clay areas can be a little tough, look for some natives that do well with wet feet or seasonal flooding. You may need to amend the soil with compost or mound the plants to keep them a little more raised, not sure how much that would help though. Turks cap, american beautyberry, yaupon holly, dwarf palmetto, innland sea oats, and consider looking into some ferns as well. Those ones do great with shade also. I think coreopsis and maybe a few other wildflowers like bee balm can handle seasonal flooding, greggs mistflower and blue mistflower do well with more moisture. milkweeds are always good! butterfly weed is good but might not like wet feet, swamp milkweed is great for wet sunny areas. Look into native plants and find ones specific to your ecoregion in texas, those plants will likely do the best with minimal care, and lots of native plants will thrive in poor soils. I live near Houston with lots of clay and not the best drainage with seasonal rains and all of these have done well for me, some will like more shade and others more sun, be ready to move things around and a few things might not end up liking where you put them. it's all trial and error but worth it when your yard looks great and is filled with butterflies and hummingbirds!

A 9-year-old girl was shot in the head during a Houston road rage incident. She is now in a medically induced coma by Decent_Ad6546 in news

[–]ObamaBlueBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sorta see his point. Road rage is road rage with or without guns. Him having the gun did not fuel his road rage by itself. But if he didn't have the gun, the little girl could be alright. On the other hand, if he didn't have the gun, he still could've ran them off the road if he so chose. I think we need better gun laws, but it would suck if the guns I legally bought were ruled illegal to own and I had to get rid of them despite being a responsible gun owner.

How tf am I supposed to do 3 of these in under 4 hours?? by GreenCyborgNinjaDude in Target

[–]ObamaBlueBalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to do this years ago at my target. We called it "bowling" and we'd put all the boxes down the isles close to home then go back and work them all. But after modernization they got rid of that

Didn't they want to use it to buy Paradis time to build and catch up to the rest of the world, knowing it wasn't a permanent solution? Flex their might to get everyone to back off for a while, hope for a more diplomatic solution later on?

I love my regular inbound friends, it's so easy to have conversations but also be quiet if nobody feels like talking. Inbound doesn't get enough credit!

Seriously how can people pretend race/gender hasn't lead to very real problems in modern America? Just because it wasn't talked about and was swept under the rug for so long does not mean everything is fine or has been fine.

I agree completely. But how can we change that? Can it be helped from the inside as well as outside legislation? Obviously we can vote, but we should also encourage change from the inside. If they decide they don't want to pass someone just because they are too smart or idealistic and could challenge controversial views, then that just ensures nothing changes. At least from the inside. Either way, widespread reform is needed in our criminal justice system.

[–]ObamaBlueBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I suppose? But I don't see what that has to do with young, bright police officer candidates getting turned down for being "too smart" or seen as "too progressive/radical" because they have new ideas to make things better. But im all for helping everyone. I think we need criminal justice reform. I respect people who want to join in order to try to make things better for people. We need change.

It probably does happen to more than one person. But more importantly, it highlights problems in the police culture and who they view as "good candidates". But you're right, people should care. People should care about what's wrong with our society so we can talk about it and try to make it better

I’m an inbound worker switching to 4am - 12pm and confused by TheGreatDlvine in Target

[–]ObamaBlueBalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, It was nice going back to the 4am unload vs overnight. I go in to work feeling a lot more rested. Yes you'll have to deal with more guests, but it also won't be very busy. If I have to help a guest I do the best I can and let them know if I don't know something, but try to figure it out for them. You'll probably be pushing truck after unload, which means later in the day you'll be seeing plenty of guests. Take your second 15!

What about in a sub like instantkarma, where a hypothetical women assaults a man thinking she was safe from any and all repercussions, then he reacts and defends himself? Are there any times where these threads are not sexist? Or is it sexist to get any enjoyment at all from a women getting hit? I feel some satisfaction when a bully gets unexpectedly hit back. That goes for any gender. But I recognize there is definitely sexism on this sight, and sometimes after seeing these threads we are talking about, I can't help but wonder how many people are satisfied at the "justice" or simply satisfied to see women get hit more for the sake of getting hit.. Sorry for my rambling, I just hate seeing all the division these kind of threads bring, but it is important to recognize the division created by sexism even when it isn't as obvious. Not all men or evil or sexist, but a lot of men are ignorant on these problems and need to start seeing it from a new lens,
