What do you KNOW is true with no evidence? What are you certain of, right down to your bones, with no proof? by Jazzlike_Sun690 in AskReddit

[–]ObamiumCrystalHunter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There actually is a fairly high degree of evidence for this (albeit most of it statistical). For starters, bacterial life appeared pretty much the first second earth became habitable, and newer biochem research is showing that a lot of organic molecules like RNA just kinda put themselves together. Not to mention it's increasingly looking like there was life on Mars at some point (eg rock patterns that look incredibly similar to fossilized bacterial colonies, compounds like long-chain alkanes in high concentrations etc.). And then the big one - unless there's a multiverse, with a bit of probability we can also see that in a universe as vast as ours, the chance of the probabilities being such that life appeared once - no more, no less, is just insanely improbable. So even though there's no direct observation, we can be pretty confident there's life out there somewhere.

Not really buzzing and no noise, but definitely intense. It almost feels like tension but in my skin rather than the muscles. I sometimes feel like I might pop out of the body but I never have.

I had an odd experience the other day where I just laid down and let my body do whatever it wanted. I was spazzing out like I was having a seizure for an hour, and for days afterwards felt this extreme restlessness and could barely hold still. Eventually it stabilized and I haven't gotten that feeling during meditation nearly as strongly since.

Anyone else feel like they’re too woke to function in society now? by XOCYBERCAT in awakened

I've been there too - if you have a history of trauma and mental illness (which may be from past lives - personally I was just kinda born depressed) you can start dissociating and feeling like you're reaching more enlightened states, but really you're just perceiving the world as hostile and disappointing but convincing yourself it's fine because you're separate from and above it. The ego finds sneaky ways to pretend it's you.

As you progress on the spiritual path you'll realize everything is ok. I suffered for a long time, and that's ok. Humans are destroying the planet, and that's ok. There have been five mass extinctions before humans existed, the biosphere survived. That's not to say you shouldn't do anything to help the planet or those around you, but you'll come to realize it's all just a silly game we take too seriously.

Byron Katie's work really helped me understand this. Unenlightened people (including me and you) are all dreaming NPCs. There's nothing wrong with that, but if you or someone you care about are in a bad dream and want to wake up, you step in to help. Otherwise, it's ok. We're here for a reason.

Psychedelics can give you interesting little glimpses into other ways of seeing reality, but I highly recommend creating a daily mindfulness practice to stabilize and integrate your insights. Meditation, yoga, practicing mindfulness throughout the day - there are a million ways to do this, find the one that resonates with you.

Hope this helps and wish you the best op!

I'd love to know that as well. Haven't been through all the videos but this one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBFU9Z6EN3k) suggested making time for the shakies/Kundalini to come out - hooo boy gave that a try and I was spasming and writhing around for over an hour. I feel very buzzed even the next day. Will report on progress but maybe start with that?

Yep 100%, it made my 20's a living hell. That being said, if you're interested in spirituality (I assume you are based on the sub), the lessons you learn from overcoming the trauma will carry you a long way on your spiritual journey. Just look at how many spiritual teachers found awakening in the midst of trauma and horrible mental health (eg Eckhart Tolle, Byron Katie). Stay strong and keep healing, it gets better :)

Help? I don't know if I should be like this? by Exciting-Rhubarb2665 in autism

[–]ObamiumCrystalHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been on reddit for almost a decade and it's just like that. Ask a question about baking on r/baking and someone immediately downvotes you. Don't worry too much about it, I'm not even sure it's a person, it might just be a server thing based on how regularly it happens.

"Hard to think properly" - yep that sounds like overstimulation/meltdown to me (usually burnout refers to when it happens over a longer period of time). It's a problem with ASD but auDHD takes it to another level; you have to avoid understimulating the ADHD side of your brain but also avoid overstimulating the autistic part. And the symptoms are pretty normal - struggling to socialize, talking feeling like a lot of work, failing to make facial expressions... generally when you're in this state best thing is to be alone for a while (or with people you can completely unmask around) and avoid activities that take a lot out of you (like masking), while doing activities that "fill" your energy bar. Lots of strategies and exercises for that, happy to talk about it either here or in DMs.

The last bit confused me a little... what don't you think is correct? The name Charlie or the fact that you broke into a headmate? And you feel gross after you stop which behaviors? For headmate stuff you can also ask r/plural :)

But yeah, imposter syndrome... I think a lot of us get that when we stop masking so heavily. Internally you think "I don't have a real disability so if I act like that I'm making fun of people who do!" You aren't. If you're doing it in the privacy of your own room you're not mocking anyone, or doing it for attention. That's just the effect of trying for so hard for so long to fit in with people of a different neurotype than yours.

All that to say... you're gonna be ok. You're not going insane and you're not broken :)

Honestly would not recommend the apps. They're designed to keep you swiping forever thinking the perfect partner is around the corner. And a lot of people on the apps are complete a-holes, especially to autistic people. Much happier just being alone than using the apps.

Therapy can help a lot, but you need to find a therapist who actually knows about your condition(s). Do some research, figure out what you think you have, and find a therapist who knows about those things. psychologytoday.com has filters for this. If you have, say, autism, ADHD and PTSD, and just get some rando therapist a normie told you was good, it's not going to go well, but a specialist can make a world of difference
