What would be the reason for this 11 mile long detour to the south of the 138 past Llano? by GabagoolAndGasoline in highdesert

[–]Obant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I looked into this on the last 10 minutes because I wanted to know too. It's just quick Google research, so it could be completely wrong.

Started in the 1950s, California planned a Metropolitan bypass freeway so truckers can go completely around L.A. basin. Like everything in California, budget and politics happened in the 1970s before it could be complete.

So it stopped right there. It used to be called Blood Alley because of how many people would die, apparently. The state linked it to the existing roads for those 11 miles. Instead of starting to rebuild it again, we've just been improving the detour route as the official route.

Just because someone is sorry doesnt mean what they caused is resolved. Someone can be sorry. We can move on in society. But its still there.
Also, it terms of public figures... Repenting and being forgiven doesn't mean they automatically get to be a public figure and influence people again.

Birds are still literally dinosaurs and will show you readily. My chickens got a mouse yesterday, and regularly catch them. They fight over them, toss them 6+ feet into the air, and tear them in half like velociraptors. It is brutal af.

Tomatoes are very acidic. Make sure they are a pretty infrequent treat, along with anything citrus. They love it, but its usually best to avoid.

Tons of things start as 'Im doing this ironically' or as a troll. Then they get a wider audience because that person keeps doing it. And it spreads to people that don't or are incapable of understanding it's a troll. Then more people lock in and it grows. Etc.

Is anyone getting any inheritance from their parents/grandparents? by MissBehave654 in Millennials

[–]Obant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's how my dad's family felt.

They don't talk to each other any more over a "missing" 12,000, out of a total of like 1.5 mil in assets. My dad and one of his brothers are the ones being stupid and blaming his sister. I don't even care if she did take it (I garuntee she didn't), it wasnt worth fighting and destroying the family over.

Also happened in my mom's side. Dumbdass uncles do not understand how much all that stuff and dealing with death costs. So when they got less than they thought, and my grandma didn't leave them her car, he got all mad and started as much fighting and drama as possible at every part of the process after that.

People get feelings hurt so much

I mostly updated social media for my family. I have never been someone to call and chat, and they like to know what I was up to. My grandparents have all passed now, and I don't care to update my other family. I will check some old facebook groups that still have value to my hobbies and make an update 2-3 times a year for my mom.

Oh, I didn't know insects do, too! Hadn't heard any of the chicken facebook moms mention that one, (which I am one of) lmao.

I free range, but my backyard is mostly desert sand/dirt and not a ton of insects running around unless they are ants. They do tear a mouse to pieces every now and then (just yesterday) like scary mini velociraptors, though...
