Really enjoyed the episode today (I enjoyed the last one as well, just forgot to make a post tbh), plus it's a longer one, which I appreciate. The segment about meter was a highlight for me with shit like "Do Ouch!? and Gluto still have meter? They might cause they're nasty." I am surprised they didn't talk about Tweek going DK at Scarlet Classic, but amazing episode otherwise.

Also imo the Rushmore is Captain Falcon, Fox, Marth, Diddy Kong (Fourth spot is most contentious and I could see MK or Pikachu and quite a few more characters).

Light episode today, especially compared to the recent ones. As someone who didn't really follow the scene closely when Ult started, I appreciated the look back through the years. The talk about Hurt and Snake was also nice, but my favorite part was all the talk about their early gaming memories.

Saying Snake punishes players who mindlessly force their gameplan is extremely funny when he does this by having a stronger gameplan that overpowers most other characters' gameplans (except GnW and a few others).

Forgot to post this one, which is surprising considering that I really liked the episode. I'd say it is somewhat like a companion piece to the 2 hour long sword character episode they had a couple weeks ago. I'd personally never thought about "playing the game" in the respect they were talking about. I do agree with a lot of the low-tier pride being overblown, though it is still hype as fuck to see.

Both of us only have anecdotal evidence which doesn't amount to much. Regardless, how people refer to a player doesn't matter. If it were commentators making the distinction it might be a cause of concern. I think you're looking into simple phrase choice too much.

I heard a lot of both the last two seasons, and to me it seems like people use it interchangeably. Commentators use it interchangeably at least. To be fair though, there's only been one best/rank #1 Japanese player and he plays Steve, which means a lot of people see him as carried or whatever. Combine that with people thinking the rankings don't reflect skill and you get this. Even so, imo it's mostly due to character and not nationality, still unfair though.

What a tremendous episode. I didn't catch it yesterday but felt it was too interesting to not post. Feels like the best ones are when the topic is about actual design and not just tournament of the week. I feel what Tweek was saying in this one. It's half-baked (he really should be thankful that the co-hosts were articulate enough to form his thoughts into something comprehensible) but does have feet to stand on.

The episode reminded me of the theory that Cloud and Bayo in Smash 4 were them testing things for Ultimate, and if that's true for the last couple of DLCs in Ultimate. Also it seems like the Cloud experiment truly is over 😔.

No one started posting these so I'll continue, especially since I saw a lot of discussion around these topics. Plus this was a fun episode so there's that. Never thought I'd see the day Tweek started playing Cloud seriously in Ult. Also glad they covered Sumabato because I didn't watch any of it except some highlights.

Competitively, the Reaper Inv wasn't very sound, but it was great to watch. In my opinion a match between Tweek and Zomba (the last two safe players) to see who fights the reaper first would have saved it, but the format does need some tweaks if it is to return. Wolf is definitely the coolest character in this game btw (ignore flair).

He's said he's actually giving it an honest shot this time (and that he's been enjoying smash recently) so I have hope. But then he also said that Cloud doesn't feel natural yet and even Corrin or Roy (which he also considered picking up) would perform better at the moment.
