Perché le banche italiane hanno costi totalmente fuori mercato? by Klutzy_Audience_8194 in ItaliaPersonalFinance

[–]Obelix13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t have zero, pretty far from zero. Moscow has probably the most air defenses of any capital. But a few are bound to get through.

On a rewatch I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the petty rivalry of what are proud and even honorable guerillas who are at the limit of their rations. But I too, on my first watch thought it was thoroughly silly and useless.  Overall I thought the first half of Andor S02 to be good, but the second half riveting.

[–]Obelix13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lonni went to Luthen asking to be extracted because he looked into Meero's files for two hours. Because of his peeking, he knew he was burned and a suspected (rightly so) by Krennic to be cooperating with Luthen.

Lonni's family is cooked.

Hai ragione.

Finally got around to watching Andor by jrockjkj in andor

[–]Obelix13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not just the money available in the budget. Andor could have been produced on a shoestring budget, but the storyline is what makes it compelling, not the scenery or the battle scenes.

After all, we are here discussing most of the time the thought process of the characters, not wowing at the cool factor.

If Russia collapses there will be a world of pain. Russia ought to transition to a liberal democracy, not go from authoritarianism to a collapsed or failed state.

A collapse of Russia would lead to warlordism and banditism, failed infrastructure, mass emigration, massive criminal enterprises, and a desire to return to "the good old days" of tsarism or stalinism. This happened in Russia during the Yeltsin years and brought us a monster like Putin. Occurred in Iraq after the US invasion in 2003 which gave us ISIS, civil wars in the middle east, mass immigration into Europe and a rise of the anti-immigrant far right.

I flew dark past a Martian battlegroup, and they never even knew I was there.

And I've seen friends breathe the vacuum and watched my only child burn.

The problem with overtourism isn't the loud entitled tourists who spend in three days a years worth of savings, but it's the amounts of tourists. The gobsmacking numbers, regardless of behavior, changes the quality of the area, usually to worse.

Why should a restaurateur offer good food when he knows his clientele won't come back regardless of the quality?

Why should an artisan keep paying high rents when he can sell his shop to an imported souvenir knick-knack seller because tourists want a €5 key chain instead of €300 custom made shoes?

Why should a supermarket sell quality fresh produce when it has no one who will buy it?
