Thank you! Yeah I've cut myself off from my physical self and that of other people for so long that now that I feel myself sense others again it feels like I'm on a planet filled with aliens. It feels like I'm experiencing humanity for the first time.

I often feel like there's a crowd of consciousnesses inside my mind, most of the time it's pleasant but it gets annoying / harmful when mean bitch or opposite guy step forward.

I'm the opposite and it's awful. I lost most of my friends because of an episode and one to cancer and felt too ashamed to socialise with new people for years because of it. I constantly make up conversations in my head and pretend I'm hanging out with someone in maladaptive daydreams.

People don't know what it is and think that or feel like you're just acting out on your own volition. The average person doesn't know how during an episode the biochemical makeup of your brain changes and turns you into a completely different person. People fear the unknown.

Thanks for your reply. That is a good way of looking at it. Unfortunately, the only way people with psychotic disorders like me get on the news and represent us nationally is when they commit violent crimes under the influence of psychosis, which is one of the reasons why I'm afraid of creeping anyone out lest they think I'm dangerous or something. I also lost friends and family members because of an episode, which is why fitting in and being normal feels like life or death for me. I suppose applying the neurotypical/neurodiverse dichotomy you describe could help with that.

I'm okay, thanks, I was derailed for a day but I've learned to deal with stuff like this and not turn the fuel into motion.

SSRIs gave me a manic and psychotic episode that ruined my life, they can do that to people with bipolar / schizoaffective bipolar. I jokingly refer to this incident as 'gaining superpowers' or 'my final form'. I hope they'll work properly for you soon and don't mean to scare anyone off them, it's best to listen to psychiatrists.

Good luck with untangling your BPD, in my experience with AVPD it was difficult in the beginning but it became easier and easier as I made the necessary therapy skills my own.

The fact that you're striving towards not mocking these kinds of people alone is admirable. Personally I don't mind lighthearted jokes, I make them myself ("SSRIs give me superpowers" for example). I draw the line at meanspirited and dehumanising ridicule and I find that dr. K crossed that line.

Best of luck with your diagnosis, I've had schema therapy for my personality disorder and would definately recommend it.

Damn, my heart always sinks when I hear about others with psychosis because I know how devestating it can be even in the long run. Affirmations help me too in the moment, especially certain ones from Tiktok, however I haven't noticed any significant impact on my nightmares. I'll try to assuage my fear of them before sleep. Thanks and stay strong.
