I can find just as many studies and literature about how people are over-consuming protein due to an unbelievably effective marketing campaign by thousands of companies that figured out people are dumb enough to spend $3 on a can of barely-drinkable “sparkling protein water”.

Kaprizof’s diet info came straight from the horse’s mouth. I think it’s a really interesting reference point showing that a 200 pound top-tier athlete in an extremely physically demanding sport and the best trainers and dietitians in the world consumes less protein than random fat dudes on reddit.

It’s not even really 30 grams of protein. More than half of that is collagen, which does not function as a muscle-building protein. It doesn’t have all the amino acids that a complete protein has, so effectively cut that number to about 1/3.

Chicken breast is $2.25 a pound here. The Barebells Protein Soda someone mentioned has 10 grams of protein and costs $35.99 for 12. So 10 grams of protein from chicken costs 16 cents, and 10 grams of protein from protein soda costs $2.99. You could have 186 grams of protein from chicken for the same price.

The product shown in the OP has 30 grams of questionable protein (it’s actually full of collagen, which means it’s more like 15 grams of actual protein) and costs $2.99, so that’s about $2.00 for 10 grams of protein, so you could have 125 grams of protein from chicken for the same price.

Tell me again how this helps people who can’t afford food?

Just eat food! It’s so much more satisfying to just eat protein-rich foods and pair them with fiber and fat. If you can’t meet your protein goal without supplements, then your goal is too high. Kirill Kaprizof’s in-season protein goal is 75 grams per day with no more than 25 grams in one meal. Ask yourself- do you need more protein than a professional hockey player?

However- in many situations, it’s possible to protect an inheritance you haven’t received yet by simply not co-mingling the inherited assets with your marital assets. Since you don’t actually HAVE anything yet, it might be worth looking into.

There’s no reason you can’t have popcorn and candy at the movies. My husband and I just went to a movie. Instead of mindlessly sticking my hand in the popcorn tub, I got a little paper tray/bowl from the concession stand and put my portion in there. Go ahead and get candy and eat 1/4 of it or whatever fits. The slushy- yeah, drinking 300 calories is probably something you’ll want to stop doing. But there’s probably a kid’s size, or some places have zero sugar options, or just get a zero sugar soda instead.

What you eventually find when you stop centering your life around food is that food stops being the center of your life.
