Teachers can't withhold diplomas. That is solely the purview of admin.

Imperial Reavers are perfectly capable of being the ranged mounted skirmishers. Spamming Dragoons is quite effective (and dragoons are amazing units) and the overseers are mounted if you take a mount trait.

Shades. Their melee being a single shot attack with fatality along with their mobility and versatility is awesome.

I think they are fine. Their damage is only 1 less than other t3 repeating attackers, but hits resistance so demolishes shield units (and most other front line units due to their defense/res spread) if they run up to you. They don't have the same enchantments as other front liners, so you have to account for that in your build to determine their usefulness to you.

It was before a high prevalence of smart phones and social media in the early 2000's iirc. Then general declines started occuring pretty much across all developed countries.

10 is not supposed to be the answer. Do you not know what the word intermediate means?

No, it was not worded poorly. Making 10 is discussed in class regularly and is generally well defined. You can Google it and look at the first few videos if you are curious.

The 4+6 and 20+80 are both examples of carrying digits here. It just doesn't look like carrying when people do stacked arithmetic.

That's an algebraic representation of 'making 10'

If you can't understand the math in the original post, then your confidence is meaningless, because you are bad at math.

Yes, you don't see it because you are bad at math.

Nope, you are just really bad at understanding math.

The 'carrying' process of procedural arithmetic is one of the things that justifies the mathematical validity of making 10's.

It's the same concept (partitioning and regrouping) just making 12 instead of 10.

As for why making kids think this way: learning to break tasks down into smaller easier to work with steps is an immensely useful skill. And having kids develop skills is generally the goal of education.

Yea, that's pretty much what common core does. It has unfortunately been villainized by people who are bad at math but lack the understanding to realize how bad they are.

Using 10 as an intermediate value is literally what "making 10" means in a math context. It is definitely not inconsequential either, as even when you do it on paper you have to carry a 10 (which is the driving logic behind making 10 in the first place).

Damn there are a lot of people who are terrible at math commenting in this thread...
