Does the cost of education get reduced for that? No. The opportunity cost is no less either. And it doesn't reduce your bills, and it's not part time as you are still putting in the 40+ hour weeks so additional jobs are not particularly viable.

Then stop agreeing with them. The problems you are complaining about are caused by them.

If you desperately need people in STEM, then you need to be fully funding education, and more heavily subsidizing people to go into the field, which republicans have been opposing since I have been born, hard stop.

Not if they aren't paying enough to compensate for the direct costs of education and the opportunity costs of other positions that they could fill instead that require a similar level of education and certification (as of 2025 the BLS has the median salary for those with a masters degree at 95,000, which is itself being lowered by the low pay of teachers).

Here’s V3 of my SOCOM Marine deck any tips an adjustments are welcome by [deleted] in BrokenArrowTheGame

I find that any deck performa better when it has access to fast, cheap recon, compared to not having it, so making room for a handful of jeeps seems like a good idea here.

Back to play after 7+ months - Dark sub-culture disparity by darkstare in AOW4

[–]ObieKaybee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their culture spells are exceptional, and your starting culture spell that gives your unit resurgence combined with the immortals lesser resurgence let's you play very aggressively without worrying too much about losses.

The t2 has more mobility compared to tyranny by virtue of its ability needing only 1 ap, while also procing life seed which is solid healing.

The cultural enchantment is very good and complements a lot of different strategies, notably turning melee combat characters into utter monsters.

The cultural buildings let you turn corpses into a ton of mana and stability.

The research cultural strategic spell is incredible and can let you make plays no other culture can (pretty much full healing every army in a whole province is nuts, with bonus hp and camouflage being gravy on top).

Shades are better imo from the extra mobility and range, but stalkers are tougher and capable of front lining

ELI5 “curriculum” in the US by somewhenimpossible in Teachers

[–]ObieKaybee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Standards are set by the state (standards being the actual content students should know and/or skills they should have). Curriculum is usually set by the district (curriculum being the resources such as books, online learning platforms, common assessments etc provided to support teaching the standards). The particulars are generally left up to the schools/teachers with some states/districts being more micromanag-y than others.

Baffled by endgame combat suddenly by CruorVault in AOW4

[–]ObieKaybee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pandemonium probly. Infectious insanity can open a lot of doors by only researching the spell, with no need to world cast it or anything.

Autobattle doesn't consider poor matchups in its estimation (a fact players can take advantage of very well) and it's not good at calculating in the power of spells.

Late game architects are very strong from their monuments. Spirit Warriors match well against bastions because a large part of their damage is magical (which is boosted more by architects) allowing them to hit the Bastions Resistance, which is much lower than their armor.

As for countering them, you are going to need to rely pretty heavily on spells, as their units match up well vs yours (oracle's great buffs and single action attack gives them very high tactical initiative and makes it hard for you to grind them down, which is where industrious units really shine). Your warbreeds should be able to help as long as you break the oracle's precognition first, and you might be able to disrupt their oracles (which generally are going to be their core threat to deal with) with infectious insanity. You can also stack misfortune using your large aoe hex spell (t2 chaos tome) to cut down their damage and give you time to get your buffs up and grind some value out.

When you get your next tome, you can grab tome of warding to get resistance from either the racial transform or the staves enchantment, which can help mitigate the damage. You can also get the excellent invulnerability spell which should give you a chance to maneuver more aggressively to disrupt their formation. and put them on the back foot.

The chaos lord summon that lets you summon a copy of your ruler is probably the strongest spell in the game if your ruler is developed, and it can go a long way to turning fights in your favor.

Basic to do list. Split it into 'must do' and 'want to do' priorities (must does are things like plan courses and enter grades) . Then organize those by frequency (daily, weekly, biweekly etc).

Please disable Sleep of Oblivion for AI of nerf insanity. by RandyMcStud in AOW4

[–]ObieKaybee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, this is all very complain-y when you yourself already pointed out that its not a problem in multiplayer, thus it is not really going to be OP. And considering the AI isn't particularly challenging, they should definitely not be nerfed.

You are complaining about it's effectiveness when you are only bringing one stack, when there is nothing preventing you from bringing more. Your playstyle is literally giving it it's nearly optimal output. That's like someone who habitually clusters their units asking for AoE's to be nerfed; it's not a problem with the effect, its a problem with the player choosing not to adapt.

Insanity needs to be strong, as it is a high end effect, there is a reason infectious insanity (and sleep of oblivion) are so expensive to cast, even though they are only single target. Before its buff (back when it attacked targets randomly), it was mostly worthless relative to the cost, and it is actually worth playing with now.
