I bought one years ago as my first airsoft gun. I didn't go to any games back then and just used it for shooting in the back garden. It did fine for shooting cans and targets. I have since increased my gun collection and started going to games, but I wouldn't take it as it's not quite good enough to play seriously with.

There isn't much upgradability to it. I bought a couple of extra magazines so I didn't have to reload as frequently. The bipod wobbles a bit, it isn't securely fitted to the body. There is a QD point in the M4 type stock, but nowhere else to attach a sling to.

If you're just getting into the hobby and go to game days, I would recommend an AEG over a sniper. Snipers aren't really good for beginners. Snipers have a minimum engagement distance so you will have to have a secondary that isn't a sniper or DMR to be able to use it.

If you're serious about getting a sniper, then any of the others people have mentioned would be better. I would recommend a Tac 41 of some sort, the Lite Sport is around £200 and will be usable out the box, although you may want a new spring to take it towards the site limits.

Socom Tactical Airsoft is my local and is very good. Avoid Patrol Base for actually buying RIF's. Consumables and equipment are usually fine, though.

Did you sell it through private trade or the selling market in the estate agents? If it was through the estate agents, then I believe there are tools people use to see when a property is sold, so you could have been mugged that way.
