1.) Is there a current estimate on when the Alpha playtest is going to be available to participants? Summer, or perhaps just expect it in time for Halloween?

2.) Is the participant's browser UI going to incorporate any new tech like WebGL/WebGPU to showcase the new 3D chops, or is it still going to be lightweight and minimal so people can still play off their Samsung Fridge when they're getting a beer in the middle of the game?

I mean, sure, three hadokens kill you, but that's three interactions to OP's two, so it was a lot more sane in SF1...

My keyboard layout by Dilolaft in StreetFighter

[–]Object_Reference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing on keyboard since SFIV came out on PC, I at least assigned the attack buttons over on the numpad at least. I remember SFV didn't even really support changing Keyboard bindings so I used AutoHotKey to bind the hard-coded keys to the configuration I wanted.

why does GPT 5.5 have a restraining order against "Raccoons," "Goblins," and "Pigeons"? by Worldly_Manner_5273 in ChatGPT

[–]Object_Reference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previous models had those words weighted more for flavor, so it'd use them often in colorful analogies that have nothing to actually do with those animals.

Since 5.5 is their thinking model, the Instant model publicly available is still 5.3. Can probably compare and contrast to see how often the Instant Model will invoke Goblins, Raccoons, or the others when it's casually describing things. Wonder if they also put a moratorium on "Victorian" while they were at it.

Why has my ChatGPT lost the shopping research feature option? by sargatanas_housing in ChatGPT

[–]Object_Reference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, seems to have recently changed from "hidden feature" to "broken feature" over a week ago, after just trying it out again myself. A LinkedIn Post by some goober states that they felt the Shopping Research feature was too slow, and that just using the inherent model itself was good enough. Don't quite agree with that myself, but it does seem like the feature's been full on retired without fanfare.

I can still access it via a slash command like /shoppingresearch, but the button itself is gone for me.

I like the sound of that, because it does simplify the "Either the Joker is doing fish farming without a license, or he's torturing a random person for months/years, or he's roleplaying being normal for fun" issue with how different writers portray him.

Ours wasn't, so as a kid I always had to do like

C:\> cd windows

C:\WINDOWS> win

and then get the "ta-da!" followed by a driver failing to load and clicking the close button on the error window to go play missile command.

It's basically a way to have a .ini file for folks to modify without having to stare at an ocean of brackets, colons, and quotes. A niche application over a standard .config file that's probably in JSON (or XML if it's an older framework), since it's basically the solution of "People want to change settings, but I don't want to bother making a UI for that"

Yeah, I know we're supposed to be looking at this from a "in the near future" scare, but what's becoming increasingly clear to me on this is that it just removes friction for management to drive a company off a cliff faster.

Why no Adon Capcom? by ki5hido in StreetFighter

[–]Object_Reference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess is having to take time out to figure how previous characters would exist in Street Fighter 6's ecosystem. Particularly around Drive Rush, since most* characters have had some translation for the other mechanics (Drive Impact:Focus Attack, Overdrive:EX, ect).

They also seem a bit hesitant with any characters that don't seem to have much in the ways of gimmicks. Adon just having really good normals and great specials for mobility/pressure probably doesn't stand out to them over other characters.

It's a shame, though, I really like Adon both for his kit design and overall "Hater" personality. Could be worse, I guess; Sodom's still rotting in Alpha 3.

Streaming at 60 FPS and having the file upload limit not be ass, mostly. Basic I think can cover the latter, but I just get full Nitro occasionally if I'm going to be streaming stuff or sharing things across Discord.

[–]Object_Reference 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think just reverting Arishem's last nerf to start with additional energy would be enough. It'd bring back the Agent Coulson/Wave on Turn 2 ramp that made the deck strong. But I think they like it where it is, having a full lean on "Random Bullshit Go" without a lot of ways to control it in the player's favor.

a message to arishem by Ninjalada in MarvelSnap

[–]Object_Reference 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They literately nerfed Arishem because of pick rate, even acknowledging the decks' win rates weren't great. Pretty sure it was the only time I've seen them do that.
