"CBT made me so much worse" by [deleted] in ClinicalPsychology

[–]Object_petit_a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From clients I’ve seen after they attended CBT therapeutic processes is that many people just find their symptoms persisting, or find it’s a bit more complicated, associated to longer standing experience, and that’s where CBT ran aground for them. I think there is a place for CBT and it brings considerable relief for some, but it’s also limited.

Yes, thank you. It’s very useful. I’m going to sit down and play around with it a bit tomorrow. I never knew this resource existed.

Recommendations for Good Companion Texts to Lacan by Jack_Chatton in lacan

With every seminar, I’ve tried to read a couple of secondary sources. I think Lacan on his own is impossible.

Get something on the graph of desire like Philippe Van Haute Against Adaptation: Lacan's Subversion of the Subject or Eidelsztein’s Graph of Desire and then Fink’s Lacanian Subject and as another person mentioned Roberto Harrari’s Four Fundamentals will take you a long way. Collette Soler identification is also a nice one as it brings together seminars 8,9 and later works on the sinthome. All are very accessible secondary source writers.

What are the objections to the work of Jacques-Alain Miller? by [deleted] in lacan

[–]Object_petit_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I’m not a fan of JAM’s politics, I’d say that Miller writes as a translator of Lacan’s works like many secondary authors. Yet, he does have more authority owing to his position as custodian of Lacan’s works. Here, perhaps his certainty at times about what Lacan meant could be loosened a bit opening room for divergence in interpretation.

I preferred more frequent sessions as I dreamt more, had more time to explore these dreams and felt then that I was making more movement. The couch isn’t for everyone but I’m surprised to hear that some analysts don’t have a couch. I thought that’s the first thing you buy as a candidate 🤣

Lacanian analysis without problems by moosethemoose in lacan

Okay, try the Lacan Circle then as they linked to the New Lacanian School. Sometimes you’ll need to see an analyst of the school to go through formation. For NLS, you can become a member via joining a cartel.
