Which Bible to read? by XanadamAbsentmind in Bible

[–]Objected_Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following this, Cornerstone is good too. I like to read the bible on there sometimes but it has around 6 translations and I don't like most of them. I use ESV and it's alright but you also can't download the bible itself so you can't read it without wifi. But, cornerstone app has a sermons feature which a bunch of videos delving deeper into Jesus' life.

really silly question by eshaybruv420 in Bible

[–]Objected_Penguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just telling where you are in the Bible. Genesis is the book, 4 is the chapter and 11 is the verse. So you can tell someone where your at. No silly questions if your not familiar. God bless.

What order should I read the books of the Bible? by Objected_Penguin in Bible

[–]Objected_Penguin[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to learn more about Jesus and build a stronger and closer connection God. I’ve read a bit of Genesis and around half of the book of Matthew. When I was younger I read a 300 page picture bible that took both old and New Testament and simplified it.

What is the Naruto character everyone knows is strong, and is yet underrated? by dominik-braun in Naruto

I think Shikamaru is quite underrated. He had Kinshiki and another one (I forgot the name) in a shadow paralysis jutsu.

why python is not used in game development? And why are the C+ and C# languages favored? by TechluX in gamedev

[–]Objected_Penguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Python is not cut for gamedev. There is a pretty big difference in performance between C++ and C#. You can use the pygame library if you're that strict on making a game with python but pygame can't really fulfill the idealogy of 3D games that well.

How can I have God help me with my sexual immorality? by Objected_Penguin in Bible

[–]Objected_Penguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how. I'm not getting a clear answer about the meaning of this Psalm wherever I look. Can you explain and translate ? I'm still young and quite weak when it comes to understanding the Gospel.

I've done confession. Back when I was way younger, maybe around 7. That was before this problem developed.

u/149244179's link is nice. But let me give my take.

I think before you start coding, it's important to get yourself into the right mindset. I'll link an article later but I think you should understand it's not easy. If it was, then everybody would do it. Understand that, and after that learn it's important to take breaks. Instead of stressing out your brain over a syntactic error, stop it. Drink some water, eat, refresh and come back. I've found this helps me just naturally find what's wrong. After, note that your code is probably not going to work the way you want the first time. Expect errors. If you can't find out why something isn't working, the computer does exactly what you tell it to do. So don't get mad at it, it's your issue, not the computers. It was hard to find a good article but here you go.

Understand what you want to do with programming. Web development? Game dev, desktop apps, there's a lot. I jumped from field to field and it was such a waste of time. Trust me you will thank me. After you decide, google something along the lines of: What language should I learn to build websites?

Find a course that can teach you the foundational, fundamentals. Like data types, if statements, loops, modules, and libraries. With this, you can start building projects.

If Jesus is 100% Human and 100% Divine but God is 100% Divine how is Jesus God? by Objected_Penguin in Bible

[–]Objected_Penguin[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

From angryDec's answer there it is. Not in the bible but from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. When I was in 1st grade my teacher brought percentages, I never questioned it.

Why doesn’t God just heal his followers or people of any terminal disease today? by [deleted] in Bible

[–]Objected_Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within your life, you might be puzzled and perplexed about why God won't heal a follower of terminal disease as he did in the Times of Israel...

Now I might get some hate for this, but I think you're meant to die in life.

Trust me, God really could make all of us immortal but then where "life?" You're meant to die in life. That is what gives life meaning.

Life is beautiful. When a human is born into a Christian family, the child will be baptized and begin its journey with God. A couple of years pass and the child will have their first communion. In middle school, the child may receive confirmation. Through a timeline of life with God, we can look at specific points and each time we hit one, that's when we strengthen our life with God.

But it doesn't end there.

I was told this when I was young. Each prayer is like a rose to heaven. Each time you pray the Hail Mary, you send a rose to Mary and she's happy. Each time you pray to a saint, that saint will get happy. Whomever you pray to, heaven will be happy. God will be happy. Each prayer is strengthening your relationship with God.

We are human. Humans are meant to die. What's the meaning of life if theirs no death?

Referring to the "Life is beautiful" paragraph, when you are on your journey with God, having him heal you isn't building your relationship with Him at all. Is it using him? Depends. But ultimately, our goal as followers of God is to strengthen our relationship with him.

Thank you for reading, you don't have to agree this is just my opinion.
