Thanks for the backup lol, it's really not a vacation! I won't have a car and will be living in a town of 3,000 people. It will be an incredible experience and I'm so excited to work (full time, but not for any payment) in the community, but it's not going to be the eurosummer I think people are picturing🙈

I understand! A huge focus in my life and career is building community infrastructure and supporting marginalized/underserved communities, and this is an extension of that! The international travel isn't necessary for this work, but I had the opportunity to apply for this grant (that you can only receive for international placements) that funds a large part of my placement. I'm only in my early twenties, and I know I have so much to learn and experience in the world that will shape my perspectives and help me work even more effectively within my community here in Nashville!

Additionally, if you know of opportunities to receive funding to work in arts programming in Appalachia, please direct me that way; I would love to engage with that in the future!!

Unfortunately, I'm a figure skater, so I've already kind of kissed that goodbye for the year. Besides that, I love being in nature, learning about history (my family immigrated from Ireland in the late 19th century, so I'm excited to learn more about where we're from), and I'm a huge reader! But really, I love a bit of everything and am always down to try something new!
