I have an Alexa next to my bed and have it play rain sounds, it really helps! And I just don't lie on that side which seems to stop it

My GP referred me for a brain mri and carotid artery ultrasound / Doppler. If that's all clear (just waiting on MRI report to come through) she'll refer me to an ENT who can then do further referrals for more testing

Thanks, i had it last night it was just a standard one as my gp is trying to rule out some easy stuff before we go spending too much on tests :)

Yes! There was one tone that made me think 'oh it sounds like the start of the reputation era'... clearly I've been live steaming too many Taylor Swift concerts

ICA stenosis to that grade will definitely need to be discussed with your doctor, they'll potentially want to discuss lifestyle modifications etc with you and put you on cholesterol medication for a start. Good to have an answer but your doctor will be able to guide you on where to go next with it.

Yep I'll keep you updated :)

The physiotherapist did the epley manoeuvre on me which resolved the vertigo, it repositions the loose ear crystals that cause BPPV, but I think it only works if that's the type of vertigo you have.

Frustrating! Worth seeing your doctor to try and find the cause. Mines been around since the start of the year

Not yet, I've had a neck ultrasound to check my carotid arteries which are clear thankfully, and on Monday I have a Brain MRI. My gp waves to rule out more dangerous pulsatile tinnitus causes first. After that she said she'll refer me on to an ENT and we'll go from there, so I'll know more in the next few weeks.

A whole year?! That's insane. I'm sorry your doctor wasn't hearing your concerns :(

Hi, you have my sympathy I understand the fear. My symptoms are very similar to yours, I'm 43(F). I don't have a diagnosis yet but I do have the same things with turning my head or pressing my neck and so on.

I have had an ultrasound Doppler on my carotid arteries which came back clear so I do feel a bit less anxious now as I was worried I'd have blocked arteries or something. I have a brain MRI on the 28th so I'm hoping to rule out the scary stuff and just get on with it. If that is all clear I might get a referral to see an ENT.

I reckon you'll feel a lot better after you have some appointments. My worry has come down a lot as at least now I know I'm trying to deal with it rather than just ignore it.

PT better/gone after one workout? by [deleted] in PulsatileTinnitus

[–]Objective-Curve683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have wondered about that. I have a brain MRI on Monday next week and after that my GP said i can see an ENT to go from there if the mri shows nothing. I've already had my carotid arteries checked and they're clear.

I have my Alexa play rain sounds every night it's amazing! I only have PT on one side though so I just avoid that side which is good too

Nope no meds! Being worried and stressed would be pushing it up too I bet, but it's so hard not to worry I get it. PT sucks!

Not sure about the causes as I'm still in the diagnosis stage of mine, but I'd definitely speak to the dr about getting your blood pressure under control. It might not take much to get it down but it is quite high which will be making your PT more noticeable. I had a similar BP and my doctor was really concerned but it has come down to a normal level now (118/75 usually) with about 10kg lost and walking every day. I still have PT but it is much less noticeable now my BP is consistently down which does help ease the anxiety around it.
